Drummer_192 I have a whistle noise too, but mine comes from my top. Right above the passengers side visor, give the top a little pressure and it goes away. Thats just my whistle though.

Frat36 Nope, I am pretty sure it is the same noise. It was only going up and down with the RPMS when it was making the humming noise which was after spraying WD-40 on the wheels. No way it could be the AC compressor, don't have A/C. Thanks though.

05GT-O.C.D. Weird. Any chance it's two different noises? If before it was going up and down w/ engine RPMs, but now it's not, it kinda makes me think two different things. Two months ago maybe you were using your AC and now you're not? So maybe one of the problems could be related to the AC compressor if you have AC?

Whistle Noise

I am not mechanically savvy so bear with me.
About two months ago I noticed a whistle noise coming from under the hood while I was driving home on the highway. I did not get a chance to look at it that night but the next day it was no longer doing it. Then about a month ago it started back up again and I checked it out and seemed like it was coming from the wheels that turn the main belt. I spraid them with WD40 and the whistle went away but then it started to sound more like a hum and got louder as I gave it more gas. Good thing was that it no longer made the noise the next day. Unfortunately the whistle noise is back and goes in and out as I drive but does not go up and down with the RPMS just in and out on its own. I checked the site for some prior post but I haven't seem to find anything that seems similar. Let me know what your thoughts are before I take it to a mechanic. Thanks.
