MR.CLIFFORD Not really. You are going to be there anyways. It is around 20 dollars anywhere you go for the mount.

Might as well change your tcase fluid while you are there too

activelydying so it's just pretty much a given to replace the tranny mount. anything else i should be checking?

MR.CLIFFORD The transmission mount is the 4 bolts in the middle. That is the 3rd leg of your tripod that holds your entire drive train in place. Since you are taking it off it is a good idea to replace your tranny mount. You need to support the weight of the transmission with a jack stand. Your drive shafts won't go anywhere. Take off the 4 bolts holding the tranny to the skid and then take the 6 bolts off the skid and lower it down.

transmission fliud change

ok, so i was going to change the automatic transmission fluid yesterday and noticed i had to take off my skid plate to get to the filter. this is the first time for taking the skid plate off. undid the six bolts on the side and then noticed four smaller bolts towards the front of the skid plate. first question is what is the purpose of the four smaller bolts? the other thing i noticed is when i tried to drop the skid plate the whole driveshaft also dropped. is the skid plate the only thing holding the driveshaft in place? so am i going have to invest in another set of jack stands to support the driveshaft anytime i take the skid plate off?
