4Jeepn I will add: dana 30 front and model 20 rear. If you plan to wheel it look into getting a 1pc rear axle shaft kit if it does not alread have it.

You might also have the Quadratrac four wheel system. Its' a full time 4x4 with a low or "emergency" shift switch in the glove box (again, memory).
Correct, 81 was the last year for narrow track axles in CJ-7's. The quadratrac transfer case was last used in CJ's in 1979.

CJinPA Stock for an 83 Renegade would be a 258 ci inline 6 cylinder motor. The transmission could be a T5 five speed manual, T4 four speed manual, T176 four speed manual, or Chrylser Torqueflite 999 (TF999) four speed automatic. All 1980 to 1986 CJ's had Dana 300 transfer cases.

Stock Drivetrain on a CJ7

What is the Stock Drivetrain on a 1983 CJ7 Renegade? I just bought one and it is my first personal Jeep (I drove my Dad's for awhile but now since I'm in college and he won't let me continue to steal it I had to get my own.) I got one in really good quality from the original owner, and it only needs some minor work. But for now I just want to know what the stock Drive Train is on this Jeep.
