whiteyj So it turns out when I bought my YJ it has a Tomken bumber on the rear. Anyone have any opinions on the Tonken swing out system vs. any others?

Obviously it would be great to weld one up myself, but no time right now with the job. Rather spend what time I do have driving the YJ!

Thanks,

daddyjeep I am going to build my own once I get me a welder too. This will be one of many welding projects I have on hold. Once I can get my AutoCAd back I will get us some plans to work from.

amerijeep I think I would buy myself a welder for that price. It does look like a nice carrier though. My grandfather has a welder that I use from time to time. I've been thinking of trying to make my own. I've been looking for some descent plans.

dont know squat I got this one for my tj

bought it used he makes new ones for tj's cj's & yj's..

I bought a new front bumper from this guy and a basket for the rear bumper..
He was ok to deal with gave me a hell of a deal but it took him about 2 1/2 weeks to get em here. Only complaint i have was I had to replace the rear pin that latches the swing away to the bumper it just wasnt long enough for my comfort during off-road use. I bought a trailer pin and new spring for less than 5 bucks. he gurantees the bumpers for life except the paint i just keep some black krylon handy.

If you contact him and buy more than one thing he might cut you a deal..I bought a new front bumper a used rear bumper holds 2 G-cans and basket for $525 shipped

Rear Bumper / Swing Away Tire Carrier - YJ

Looking for a solid rear bumper with a swing out spare tire carrier. Would also like to eventually add a trail rack, jerry cans, and high lift mount to the system.

I've seen one that nested the two cans flat against the tailgate behind the spare. But when I went back to check the labels the YJ was gone!

Any suggestions?
