mrcarcrazy cool pics. I hope I can take my first "official offroad" trip soon.

RIght now I just drive through large holes in parking lots, and down alleys, and the such...since I have to drive a few hrs to go offroading.

And I love your jeep. my Fav. color.

that is what I was worried about, and I was on a tight budget. I went with a 3 inch suspension lift and 32's, and didn't have to get all that extra stuff

Ray - San Jose I had the forsight to remove my steps before taking her off-road

I purchased her new and couldn't bring myself to put her in harms way. Now that the hood clear coat is checking, got the first ding, and a scuff or 3, I felt the time was right to pop that off-road cherry sts. Now that I've been bitten by the bug, I want to go back!

Ray - San Jose A few minutes with a Hi-Lift, and the Jeep slid over about 6 inches freeing up the stuck tranny skid plate. I was able to finish driving over the obstacle under my own power


Then we hit the trails.


We made it all the way up to Hector Heights on the blue trails (medium difficulty) and hung out with a few cool jeepers up top.


The way down was a bit more difficult than the way up


We made it down to the Quarry and played there awhile before heading back to the staging area almost 8 hours after starting.


Very cool day, I'm glad I did it. I defiantly want to go out again! I learned a few things about what my rig is capable of in it's stock form, and a few things about what I was lacking in gear. I have a new appreciation for my rig, and I thank 03Rubi and his wife for taking the time to show me the ropes

Scratched the 7 year itch...

Yea, not quite what you thought

I purchased my Jeep Wrangler Sport brand new in April of '02. Last Saturday, I was finally used it for what it was intended, trail bombing.

Rubi, his wife, and I went out to Hollister Hills for the day. The trip was to show me what my stock rig is capable of. We started out at the Vineyard School where we disconnected our sway bars


From there, we headed over to the 1st obstacle course to play in the mud a bit. There were a few outrageous rigs out there playing around. Defiantly a cool thing to see for the first time


After hanging around the mud pit and hitting a few of the obstacles there, we headed over to the 2nd obstacle course (not on the map) and I was able to run a few of the obstacles there to get a feel for what my rig can do




I decided to just check my articulation out on the pile of boulders in the middle of the yard.


Then I got brave


And of course, bravery leads to getting stuck...




Thankfully nothing broke, and the damage was limited to the engine skid being a bit bent, and the corner of the tranny skid being rolled over a bit.
