80sforlife For those who repainted your rock rails did you sand the surface first or just paint directly over?

jadmt put them on and hit the trails and you will forget about the old damage and admire the new.

Jim, I have the same issue. Did you use the normal black or matte black for plasti dipping? How well has it held up against getting in and out of the Jeep? I ask because the Mopar rock rails protrude out slightly enough I would think passengers would sometimes step on the plasti dipped rails and peel it.

LVCapo I once shipped a #1/5 sports lithograph through UPS....was profesionally packaged.....showed up obliterated, completely destroyed. UPS customer service manager looked it up in the system and acknowledged that one of their drivers destroyed my package....backed up over it in a loading truck. They denied my claim because it wasnt packaged by a UPS employee....and even though I paid for their insurance and had all documentation, I was out $1150. Fedex was little better, they acknowledged losing a testing kit I used for computer power supplies, along with a $250 power supply....again had all the documentation, and they admitted they lost the stuff at their sort facility, but refused to replace or pay for the system as it wasnt purchased by me retail, and therefore they couldnt establish a value....out almost $1500 from that one.
Insurance is basically worthless with shipping companies.

Strongly advise you notify the vendor who shipped them. Normally they will handle everything and get replacements. If they were purchased from a third party, I'd wait on the UPS claim. They may or may not want to inspect the carton and rails, so don't monkey with them. Just my opinion.

JimBrez How does plasti dip match up to fender color if I were to apply that?

rics1997 Wait it out but I found that these shipping companies find a way out of paying for damage unless you can get pics of them doing it. I never pay for insurance anymore because I have never found that they will honor it. I had some china shipped once and the box was almst crash when I got it and half the pieces were broke. They claimed it was pack wrong. It wasn't.

If you can't get anything out of it, I would straighten in and bedline or rubber coat them.

Rubicon rock rails issue

So I got a brand new pair of rubicon rock rails sent to my house. During shipping I guess FedEx seemed to mangle them and they came damaged .. I filed a claim with them ... In the mean time Any suggestions on repairing them? Or should I just wait and see if they grant my claim.
