HyperBuzzin Just be aware, some of the ready made plug & play trailer harnesses need to plug into the right side, some the left side, and some need to plug into both sides, depending on the Jeep.
My '04 (Unlimited) just plugged into the right side

AdventureMyk Flat 4 took me about twelve minutes to install when I hadn't done one on the Wrangler before. It's been a while but you don't need any modules or anything with it. The color codes ought to be in the directions. On mine I popped the right rear splash guard cover and made the connections there, ziptied the extra wire into a loop and left it inside where it's protected then ran the wire out via zip-tie on the inside rear of the hitch. That way if I'm off-roading it's protected.

As with Chuck I think mine was a plug 'n play. It's been a few years since I put it on.

chucky cheese Don't go cutting up your wires. Go get a plug in trailer harness. Got mine on line. The harness ties in under the tub by each tail light and has a 4 wire flat plug. unplug the tail light from the jeep harness, plug the light into the trailer harness then plug the jeep harness back in. this is done at each tail light then tyrap harness from each light back to hitch under the jeep.

Jeepshadow The only time you need a computer module is if you have amber turn signals on the rear. Your white is ground. Black is tail lights the yellow and green are turn signals. Sorry but I don't remember which is right and which is left.

Trailer light harness?

I have a 2000 TJ 4cyl 5 speed. I have a very small trailer I'll be dragging around & I may get a basket for the hitch.

In any case I want to wire up a harness for the lights. I have a 4 flat harness (with no instructions) in the garage but I don't know what wires to tap into.

First - will a 4 flat work with a 2000 TJ? I've heard that some may need a computer module.

Second - what wires go where?
