what year jeep do you have ?

Sound like your starting to have a second gear synchronizer go bad and that would mean rebuilding the trans or if you have a puke goat trans replacing it with a better one.

But you may get lucky if you just change the trans fluid and bleed the clutch it may do it, but when they jump out of gear that is not good.

Mr. WOT Mine is a little tough too in the very cold. Just don't force it, let the syncros do their work. When it's ready, it'll slide in. Once warm do you still have the problem?

Second Gear Issues in Cold

This is my first winter with this wrangler and when I first start it after sitting outside in frigid temps, I have a hard time getting the vehicle into 2nd gear (manual trans). Every other gear is fine, only 2nd? It either grinds to go in or occasionally "pops" out into neutral. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
