gerb04 That's my next step.

jwm1986 I just don't see how the rubicon flares wouldn't cover something that small. I mean I have 33x12.5's on 3.25" BS wheels! That's pretty wide. My 6" bush wacker flares cover all but .5" to an inch.

Edit: And after thinking numbers... You would need about 5" flare. Guess that is right... hmmm

burton160w NJ state inspection usually has a hard time passing anything that sticks out. Mine sticks out less then .5" and I failed. My advice is to find a private garage that you pay to pass.

gerb04 I too have trouble paying that much for fender flares.

kilgoretrout844 this question has probably been argued 1000 times, but what is so bad about smittybuilt flares? Do they not fit right requireing modification, are they infuriour material, or just plain junk all around? I am just asking because they are half the price of bushwacker, and spending 500 dollars on fender flares just seems outrageous to me.

Is your fender flares stock? Mine are stock and stick out alot more. My backspace on my rims are 4 inches.

willysmb I had 10.5x31,s on my Sahara with 15x8 3.750 backspacing, stock flares. The tires stuck out 1.2 to 2 inches outside the sahara flares. Not sure if NJ state inspection would have passed. The local garage I took it for inspection passed it without issues. The 6 inch flares would pass for sure.

gerb04 The Bushwackers are a little pricey for me. I was thinking about the rubicon/sahara fenders. Im not sure if they would make me legal. I think I might need 5 or 6 inch ones. I measured and that is what I came up with.

jwm1986 Rubicon/Sahara flares would prob cover them also, if you could find a decent used set somewhere.

EK5858 Bushwacker 4 3/4's are great for 31's

Fender Flare Sizes

Hello to all. I've been searching the forum about fender flares and I have not found my answer. I have 31x10.5x15s on my TJ with stock fender flares. To be legal in NH(I think)they have to cover the tread of the tire. The only sizes I can find are 6in and 7in fender flares. Do they make 5in ones? 7in would stick out beyond my tires. Anybody out there with the same set up as mine with aftermarket fender flares? Got any pictures? Where are the good deals? The only thing I found was don't by Smittybuilt? Thanks for all your guys help! This is an awesome forum by the way!
