blainejr huh? they deleted the add already, 98 sport, 4.0, 5spd, full doors, hard top, 79,000mi, id like to find a soft top for the warmer times of ohio. ill prolly be adding wheels and a slight lift here in the future but i mainly bought for a daily driver, i wanted to stay with a 4x4 but little trucks arent my thing so i got this, can still pull a lil trailer for quads and mowers and such, and still get some fuel economy. and its not a car, im no way a car dude.

My '02 TJ Sport came from the factory with a D44 rear. It was an option.

HyperBuzzin The D35's are only for rears. D30's are fronts.
'04- '06 Unlimiteds came with D44 rears stock. Not sure what SWB ones came with stock 44's, but it was an option for any Wrangler. So... only way to be sure would be to check the diff tag.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

CapeCodET One small thing I can add is to look under the front floor mats. My 1997 and another 2006 I know of have extensive rot there. You cannot see it from underneath, you have to pull back the carpet.

got some questions????? new to jeeps, need some answers.

had this posted under the new member thread and i was gettin any help, so i thought id throw it up over here.

hey everyone, just got the itch to get a jeep, and being a diesel nut that i am im toying with the idea of swaping in a 4bt in the future, i read a lot on the topic and it seems pretty doable.

now off to the questions!!!

what can you suggest as for years that would be the easiest to start with for this profect? im leaning towards a tj 97-06.

i know some had different axles and drive train from other years, what years should i avoid or look for? ive figured out some of this myself already, i know i need to get a 4.0 with the 5spd to get the ax15 trans, but what determined what jeep got which axels at the factory? i know they had dana 35s and 44s, now do they all have the 44 in the rear and the 44 or the 35 in the front, or can they have the 35 in the front and rear, and how do i determine which is which, when looking at them.

im going this weekend to look at a couple, a 97 with 76000, soft top, half doors, asking $6000, and a 98 sport, 78000, hard top, full doors, ac, $9500.

hopefully ill pick one up, for my pickups are going to kill me, either finacially or physically!!!!

thanks a bunch guys!!!!
