yj-genral im doing a 305 swap right now with a friend of mine and his shop and we started it about 4 weeks ago and there are alot of small details you have to worry about... a clear head, some ingenuity, and time and money... if this is your DD then i would buy one converted and sell yours off... would make it more seemless transition.

former USMC If you don't have alot of mechanical knowledge, a well equipped garage to work out of, and additional transportation ......................... don't even get involved. The best thing to do would be store your present vehicle, start scrounging needed parts, while reading and asking questions getting a basis of information as to what to expect. If you have to hire a shop to do your work you would be better off buying one that is completed.
Talking about swapping a 350 is easy but there are alot of obstacles one doesn't plan and it all takes time. I switched a four to a six and to say the least encountered more problems than I ever imagined. If I charged ten dollars an hour it would be a mighty expensive machine. If you enjoy a challenge it will be enjoyable. Not all projects are done to get to a qualified point. " I bet I can do that " will certainly get your brain to exploring alternatives. Have fun no matter which route you venture.

350 swap from 2.5 L

i got a 94 2.5 yj and thinkin of swapping to a 350 i know i need a conversion kit but i have a few questions. first how much work does this involve? about how long does it take cause this is my only truck i have in this state? and lastly what kind of transmission would be best suited for daily driving and a bit of offroad use on the weekends? i love jeeps just not the best mechanic in the world but i am learning as i go so bear with me. any advice is great help. thanks.
