Wet behind the ears from Qatar (Persian Gulf, Middle East)
I moved to Qatar recently, which for those who don't know, is a tiny country on the east coast of the Persian (Arabian) Gulf in the Middle East. Basically a rich oil shiekhdom to use the common stereotype.
So what better car in the Middle East than the formidable and rugged Wrangler? I have always been ... intrigued by wranglers, and had never had a chance to own one, but focused on muscle cars in the past.
So as soon as I landed there, I looked up 2nd hand cars, and found this mint condition 2009 2-D Sahara which had only done 4000 miles. So I test-drove it and gotten it tested at the official dealership, and bought it.
Little did I know that the streets and roads in this place are great, and almost everyone owns a luxury sedan or some European sports car.
However, I fell in love with the wrangler, and don't regret buying it one bit.
I gotta say though, the reason I'm here on this forum, is because I almost feel like I've married out of my league lol .... I've never been one of the avid outdoorsy types, nor am I particularly mechanically inclined, and I just stand there infront of this highly-customizable and versatile beauty of a machine, and don't know where to start even attempting to utilize its capabilities.
There are slight differences between wranglers in the U.S and here, but I guess this introductory post is big enough as it is, so I'll just cut it short here, and say that I'm glad to be here, and hope to learn something about what I can do to enjoy my wrangler.
