|Pmcmvp||Costco battery, no issues|

|PositronicReflex||I've got a diehard platinum in my vette at the moment. First DHP went dead within a couple months, but I took it back to sears and got a free replacement. No problems since. They seem a bit heavier than a standard Batt , but seem to work good. I'll probably go with same kind in the jeep when its time for one.|

|JRoweMDN||I have the Diehard Platinum in my Jeep and my son has played my stereo at the beach for at least 4 hours and I have 2 300w Fosgate amps to push. No lag when restarting after leaving the headlights and fogs burning for 2 hours while working on another truck. I was always a fan of interstate but after switching to Odyssey in my boat I never looked back. The Diehard is definitely cheaper than Odyssey for the same product.|

I'm going to go with a diehard platinum.
So its safe to leave music on for 2 or so hours without worrying about needing a jump? Im using some basic speakers on the roof of the wrangler.

|doclouie||I also run the Duralast Platinum and it has been a good battery. I usually get like 4.5 years out of them. Remember if you do not get an acid flooded battery to unplug the temp sensor under the battery.|

I run 2 spotter lights and a winch and haven't had any issues so far. I came from an Optima Red Top that crapped out on after one deep cycle though so definitely stay away from it.
Here's the link to the Duralast Platinum though, link

Using the now less reliable (in my personal opinion) Optima AGM battery line as a good example, it's easy to see that not all AGM batteries are created equally or have great quality.

Can it handle a winch and off road lights?

|Madden||I just bought the Duralast Platinum from Auto Zone and it has very similar specs to the DieHard Platinum but for half the cost. Haven't had any issues so far, and was able to run the radio for an easy 3 hours without it dying or having any trouble turning over when I went to start it|

|Tdog02||your jeep wont run without a battery, its a key component. I bought the diehard platinum for my jeep, it pinched the wallet a little but solved a huge issue for a long time to come. I believe the AGM is the best way to go for your battery needs. Buy quality and only buy once.|

|IADave||Interstate all way. The new AGM line is expensive but is built for starting and deep cycle use.|

|Goobs63||Do you guys buy the one specific for the jeep or is there like a universal one that works the best?|

|jeepwayoflife||I would go with the platinum, yes. I have it and have left the lights and music on for hours while fishing or camping with no problems. I also have an amp running a subwoofer.|
|10-12-2013 12:52 AM|
|Lando25||It would take hours for the radio to drain an average healthy battery. This also depends on the complexity of your sound system as a more elaborate system with a thirsty amp won't last as long as a stock system.|

Need a new battery
So I need a new battery for my tj since It wasn't starting without a jump the other day.
I just bought her last week so she's fairly stock now. I eventually want to get some off road lights and maybe a winch.
I really just want to be able to play music with the engine off and not have to sweat about my battery dying on me. Will the diehard platinum that everyone raves about allow me to do this? Their like 200 bucks so before I dish that kinda cash out I want to make sure. How long could I leave the stereo on for?
Do I really need that nice of a battery? I'm not going to do any crazy big mods on the 97 tj
