|TJNewbie||Thanks IslandTJ for your time and impressive information. since buying my TJ I have done alot of research, reading the boards of several forums, trying to figure out, the options that I want to upgrade and how to do it. I too felt that the 2" suspension lift with a 1" body lift would do the trick. but I didn't know what to get or what would work best. You've helped me out a great deal. I'll eventually get to the 33x10.5x15s, while maintaining a good on-road ride/drivable quality too.|

Additionally, with such a minimal body lift, I did not have to bother with my AC, and fuel filler hose (no extensions necessary).
Lastly, the MML allowed me to remove all the washers I used to drop my transfer case, hence raising the skid back to stock height and giving me the clearance I lost (although minimal) with the washers. Apparently, the motor mount spacers raised the engine sufficiently to re-align my driveline angles close to specifications, as I am vibe free. Without the MML, I would either have to lose clearance with a dropped transfer case skid or incur further costs with the procurement and installation of a SYE and CV shaft.

The Detours Dropkick Slyders are awesome. They are so easy to install especially if you’re installing the product by yourself. I specifically chose the Slyders because I required a functional step for my wife and kids, and wanted side protection at the same time. My Slyders are made for Jeeps with a body lift so clearance and an unsightly gap are minimal.
I highly recommend the Dropkick Slyders, if you need a functional step and protection. Additionally, after off-roading with a purpose built swaybar such as the SwayLOC (or even the Antirock), I wouldn’t go back fully disconnecting – seems contrary, but remaining connected really improves the Jeep’s performance on off camber scenarios.

spacer lift 2003 2.4
my girl drives this car. she's had since 03 completely stock. tires are 31. i want it a little higher. she doesn't do any offroading in it. we just ride around in the dunes in glamis.
how bad is the ride with just a spacer lift? would she be able to notice.
whats the highest you can go with a spacer lift before you change out the stock shocks.
really just looking for it to look a little higher

Nice touch as I've never seen a custom or aftermarket bumper with the OEM push pads.
I also had a "universal" winch mount from Harbor Freight, it was cut down to a stubby and welded on to the custom bumper. Gussets were attached for the stubby's reinforcement.

I did the install myself took about 5 hours. I had no one helping and I spent about an hour trying to get the front shocks off. I finally just cut the nuts off.

|TJNewbie||First of all, thanks for all of the info from everybody. I had considered the rubicon express set-up, but hadn't found it at that kinda price. I'll look around again. And for Islandtj I love your avitar! She's very distracting. For now I just plan on running 31x10.5x15 General Grabbers. Then in the future after I get some flat fenders, I'd like to move up to 33x10.5x15 Interco TRXUS MT Super Swampers, and may have to add to the suspension alittle at a time.|

I may just try new OME shocks first and see if thats enough or if I need to replace the springs too. I dont plan on going over 31" tire so the small lift is fine with me.

I imagine your 2000 Jeep's coils may experience some sagging due to their age. If so, I recommend you upgrade with a suspension kit that replaces your stock coils with a new set.
A budget boost normally comes with coil spacers, you may new a full suspension lift depending on existing coil sag. I'd recommend you research and consider the following suspension kit upgrades, listed in order of price.

Black Mountain...parts and products are rebadged Superlift components. Kinda like GMC/Cheverolet type deal.
Spacers are spacer...they are all basically the same. The black mountain "superlift" shock can be a little stiff but aren't too bad. It is good the kit comes with all the bumpstops and hardware.
As for shock boots....don't use them... they trap dirt and water and help rust and the shock go out.
The company has a good rep but don't sell HUGE amounts of products. They are a smaller company. " rebadge superlift product".
As for the price...well you can do better. If I recall the RE "rubicon express" 2'' budget boost with shocks goes for around $225.

2inch lift kits??
I saw a 2inch lift kit from Black Mountain Suspension, it had 4 spacers/bump stops/shocks/boots & all associated hardware for $199.00 plus $48.00 S/H. Does anyone know if this is a good kit/product. Is the Black Mountain company worth buying from. It's at collinsbrosjeep.com. They use this kit on most of the used jeeps that they sell.
