AzTJ Here's the list of finishers thus far... my boys from Carnage Crew #4444 are 9th! They finished 13th last year.

AzTJ Watching live feed and getting words from friends, sounds like Jason & Aaron with Team Carnage Crew are placing somewhere in the top 10! Still have to wait for an official time though.

Congrats on finishing guys!

AzTJ Nico - you can find all the updates here @ Pirate4x4

You can also check the General4x4 section of their forum for news and other stuff.

AzTJ Yay! Jason and Aaron made it to JV! Check out their rig. Dual-rate coil overs at each corner with double by-pass shocks in the front and triple by-pass shocks in the rear. Got word that KING adjusted the shocks for them and they did a test run through the whoops @ ~60MPH. GO GETTEM' BOYS!

AzTJ Here is a quick run down of this years LCQ course. It's 6.5 miles... and the first day (today) had a course run of 12 minutes!

I can only see one "problem".
Is the tie rod still that low in front of the front axle?
I would put it in the rear of the axle like on a Mercedes G or Unimog.

That is just a temp tie-rod to keep the wheels in line. It was removed when the tie-rods on the hydraulic steering were installed.

Also - You should buy the DVD's Nico. I have the first one and still need to get the second one.

nicolas-eric Btw. do you know a good website, forum etc. to watch some actual movies and pics from there?
02-09-2010 09:34 PM
Rawkon they found us in one of the woop sections too. stopped and chatted for a bit.

Geoff@Bestop My boss is there somewhere. Look for a yellow 4 door with big Bestop stickers. And tell him that his employee is back at the office, drinking. Cheers!

AzTJ Here is their build thread on Pirate... the attention to detail on a lot of the small stuff is amazing. Check out the upper shock mounts, trailing arms, and the cross brace in the front of the buggy.

nicolas-eric That sounds good.

I´m a bit confused that no user of this forum is there. There are so many members from CA...
02-09-2010 09:17 PM
AzTJ They had several friends working on it non-stop till 2 days ago. They got to Johnson Valley yesterday. I haven't gotten any updates on them since, but it is running.
02-09-2010 09:16 PM
nicolas-eric That pic is only 7 days old?
It looks like they had still much work to do...
02-09-2010 09:13 PM
AzTJ I was going to say, that is a Jimmy's 4x4 rig, easily noticeable.

I know Todd McCullen (Desert Fab Racing) and he's one of the racers this year. He lost out last year in the Last Chance Qualifier. But I'm hoping the guys from Carnage Crew in CO make a good enough time in the LCQ to race. They're rig still looked like this on Feb 2nd.

nicolas-eric He has one of the best Jeep parts and modification companies in Europe. But he built it in the US together with his partner company ** Jimmy's 4x4.
02-09-2010 09:01 PM
jgano23 nice rig. did he ship it from germany or did he build it here?
02-09-2010 08:57 PM
nicolas-eric %&§$%$&$$

I didn´t find the time to fly to CA.

But here are the first pics of the car from our German team.

MR.CLIFFORD I was going to make it but the jeep deal I'm working got pushed back a week. So it will be over by the time I make it to California.

Is anybody from this forum there?
A guy from Germany starts from position #12.
Tomorrow I´ll try to find a cheap flight to Los Angeles.
Some other buddies are already there it Johnson Valley.
Here in this forum you can see the first pics from there:
