forcephil I have enjoyed my Supertop, it is nice to go from full top to basically a bikini top in a couple of minutes... What heat I have (which isn't much) stays in better if I go under 50mph, the door tops tend to bow out if I go faster, and you are really losing what heat you have when that happens.... enjoy...

Steve97TJ thanks for yalls help. i got the top in and it came with a hole already in the canvas top. my pops emailed quadratec and they are sending us a new top and we have to send the old one back. but i think since we alreday put the top on cause we didnt discover it till we had taken my old top all the way off were just going to replace the part thats messed up and the right softdoor has a glitch with the latch. stretching the canvas was not a very fun task. being 40 degrees outside it took 4 of us to do it. not something im looking forward to doing ever again.

4Jeepn bestop makes the tops that come on new jeeps, so the aftermarket bestop should be a good top. As for keeping the heat in, have to have heat to start with of course, but yeah it can stay warm inside with the soft top.

dont know squat steve not sure about the weather in sc but when you get your top if its or 65 colder look for a garage with a heater to install. stretching a cold top is a mofo

Steve97TJ thanks well i guess it sounds to be a pretty ok buy then. it doesnt really snow much here it might snow like 3 times this winter. as of right now my PE top has so many places that it leaks and stuff its very hard to keep heat in there and stay warm which stinks. but i guess with the new one it wont be like that.

Jeepcrazy What do you mean by "keep the heat in"? Are you asking if you'll freeze to death driving down the road? If so no. I stay warm enough in my soft top jeep to take off my coat while driving in PA. Its a YJ with a bestop supertop on it. If I park it and turn it off it it takes a few minutes to warm back up but then the soft top will not keep the heat in when the heater isn't blowing.

Only tips I have for soft tops in the winter.

Brush the snow off the top.
DO NOT brush the sides or back since they are mostly plastic windows.
NEVER scrape the plastic window.
To get the snow off the covered windows tap them with your palm on the inside or outside if you like. Just don't smack em real hard. Just enough to bump off the snow so you can see enough to back up or turn if needed.

The jeep usually melts off the side windows within 10 min or so if you heat it up but the rear window is usually dirty and snow covered.

Overall I like everything I ever bought by bestop. I've yet to have a window crack or zipper break. Just take a little time and once a year polish the windows and clean the zippers. A tooth brush will clean those zippers out really well after winter and keep them from jamming up.

khenderson i'm not sure about the soft doors and the heat. when i was replacing my top, i found that for the number of people that liked the top, there were that many who didn't like the way it worked and went together and would have preferred the factory top with the sailcloth fabric. but it's bestop and they make good products, so i'm sure it'll be just fine.

mud707 I Had One For My Cj-7 And It Worked Pretty Good. I Can't Really Say About The Cold Though Cause My Heater Din't Work In It. But Everything Else Seemed To Fit Perfectly.
