izum2 Thanks a lot for your replys. I'll look into those things more and let my mechanic know about the suggestions... It is definitely comming from under the car. It's also not like the really high pitch, almost scream that hurts your ears, which i think of as comming from fan belts... It sounds more like a noise that would come from vibration... like break noise, or the whine on a volvo from the exhaust system when it goes through deep water...

ccain Is it definitely coming from underneath? I'm with Fweaky, check your belts AND your tensioner and idler pulleys. Another piont to check would be the water pump and maybe the alternator.

So my noise seem different than most... transmission problem?

Hey Guys/Gals,

I have searched for about an hour now and I love what i have found but nothing seems to match the symptoms my jeep has... I thought it might be the throw out bearing but that doesn't seem to match the symptoms others have described... maybe someone here can help... I hope so. Here are the facts:

[*]Jeep Wrangler 2004 Rubicon.[*]80,000 Miles[*]Off road only 2x in the past 50K miles.[*]Medium to Hi pitch noise/squeal.[*]Noise does not happen on start up.[*]Starts after about 2 min of driving on very cold mornings. (40 deg F).[*]It doesn't matter if I have the clutch engaged or not. Noise does not go away under except during acceleration.[*]Then after 10-15 minutes of driving it finaly fades slowly.[*]Seems to fade as engine temp comes up.

I look forward to any replys or info you guys may be able to give me...

Thanks again,

Mike
