dana 44's are more prone to vibes.

jherrin215 You don't know for sure that you will not have vibes with just a 2 inch BB. I put one on and had to do a transfer case drop also. I have a manual transmission with a D44 rear end and had to do the drop to finally kill all the vibes. So it's pretty much about what you wanna spend.

Rawkon theres nothing wrong with dropping the tcase, its cheap it works. you lose 1inch of clearence, get a measuring tape and look at a inch. its no big deal. Ive been running it on a some moderate to hard trails and i havn't wacked it yet.
John bull, holcomb creek those kind of trails.


they are giving you good advise as far as cheap ways to gain clearence, but if you have the money get a full suspension kit and ditch the body lift.
I know of two guys who run body lifts and wheel and they are getting stress cracks on the body.

im saving my pretty pennies to get a sye but in the mean time the Tcase drop works great
im running a RE 3.5 superflex and love it so far. its perfect form my level of wheeling.

mrbigjeep i agree with nicolas.

do the 2" coil lift and then do the 1" BL/MML. you won't have to deal with any vibes or dropping the tcase or installing a sye and cv driveshaft and it will still give you the perfect amount of lift to run 32's without rubbing even when discoed and it will be at a great price.

i run the rustys 2" coil lift and love it...now i'm thinkin about addin a 1" BL also.

btw...no welding is required for the BL

nicolas-eric the 4-sped auto shifter has a cable from the shifter to the tranny. you daon´t have to change anything on it with a 3" BL.

if you do a 1" BL and a 1" MML at the same time you don´t have to lower the engine fan shrould and installing the BL is very easy. with only a 1" BL you dont have to extend some wires or fuel hoses. it´s really easy.

That was my initial thought, but I was told that I would have to cut and weld a linkage cable to the shifter with a bl.
Ever heard of that?

nicolas-eric with the 3" lift you´ll have to drop the transfer case. with the 2" lift you don´t have to do that.
install the 2" lift and the additional 1" bodylift and 1" motor mount lift (costs 100 $ i think). then you are ready for 32s and don´t have to drop the TC.

Best lift setup

I have an 03 TJ, I6, 4spd auto, D35/30 3:73 gears and I'm having a hard time deciding which lift I want. I know that I want to run a Rusty's lift, but I can't decide between a 2" coil lift and running 31's or a 3" Basic lift and 32's.
The 3" is obviously the more expensive option because the lift is about $150 more, and I'd need $200 wheel spacers (running canyon wheels), and probably tire carrier.
Will there be a significant difference in the look or performance between the two?
