285/70 17's will be fine with 5" backspacing. AEV rims are 5.2" backspacing with +10 offset..

with 285/70-17 and 4.5" bs you will be slightly past the fenders and 5" should be about perfect.

|Espo78||I'm not 100% but I think 5 will rub at full lock. You can space your steering stops with washers though to stop it. I don't know if that would affect inspection or not. You may be better off by keeping your stock wheels and tires to swap back on for inspection, then run whatever you want the rest of the time.|

|kjeeper10||4.5 is most commonly used, but like I said. AEV wheels are (or were) 5.25 so they should work for you. Plus that tire is only 11.5 in width.|

The less the more the tire will stick out. Stock is 6.25. Most common 4.5 and some wheels are 3.75 AEV iirc runs 5.25 (?) Offset can be figured from BS. I know DT Has a formula somewhere.

Up here in NH it's not uncommon to fail yearly inspection for tires outside of the wheel well. I'm going to run fuel trophy wheels with 285/70/17 duratracs and TF performance leveling kit on my 14 JKRX.
I'm having a hard time figuring what offset I want. The wheels are available in both 4.5 and 5 offset. I know the 4.5 will give a little better clearance with the suspension but will stick out a bit. Anyone run 5 offset and do they rub?
