ChilliRed Got it back from the shop today. They said it was the linkage and fixed it for me. It drove fine getting home, but when i got in the jeep to drive back to work reverse was neutral and neutral was forward... hopefully its still just the linkage

ChilliRed Yes its an auto. True about the shop, its a good shop... took me a while to find one that does good work. I just wanted to know what i was up against before i went today since tranny work is expensive and the last repair left my wallet a little skinny.
Since i left it there (couldent drive home) i shuld hear back about what it is, ill let yall know

O yea i found out about the P and R going forward when i tried to pull a k turn... had to push it back into the street haha

Thanks again guys!

binaryking Just call the shop and ask them. If you don't come off accusing them right off the bat and are civilized about it, they might help. Unless they are a crappy shop.

Help Tranny Problems

Hey all, so heres my story... I was sitting in traffic last Friday and the jeep stopped running. Engine shut off, had it towed to a shop. It ended up being the crankshaft sensor. So I drove it down the road from the shop and what do I find?

-It doesn’t shift out of first gear driving down 3 out of 4 roads
-There is no longer a distinguishing click between Neutral and Drive
-Park and reverse go forward, but do nothing else

Please give me anything you think could have happened in the shop or the tow to the shop because I know it worked fine before the engine shut off on my Friday

Something could have just broke with bad timing (while it was in the shop) but if that’s not the case I don’t want to pay for someone else’s mistake Thanks a lot, any help is much appreciated
