|dcmtex||Ok guys, thanks for the suggestions but could I just go ahead and admitt to being the dummy I am and ask the dumb questions. What is the cowl? I think I know but for dummies like myself sake, is there anyone with pics? It rained again yesterday and I was out in it just for the 15 minute ride home (not a hard rain) and got some water on the passenger mat again. Fortunately these are the huffy mats that will hold the water but I'm worried about the water coming in behind the dash. Thanks in advance|

you're cowl drain is probably plugged, it drains into the engine compartment. If plugged it'll fill up causing water to go into the hvac air intake duct Which is on the passenger side of the jeep (running from the cowl into the blower motor housing inside)
I took off my cowl panel, and used a wire hanger (unbent) to unplug it.,

Mine was leaking also. I took off the cowl and there is a seal between the air box for the HVAC and the body. I unbolted mine, ran a bead of black silicone and no more leaks. I am not sure if yours is leaking from the same spot or not, but its worth a try.

Just got back from a trip to Western Oklahoma and it rained on us all the way home. The passenger floorboard accumulated a good bit of water. My passenger deduced its not from the windshield or the roof but its dripping from under the dash just right of the glovebox. This is a 2001 Wrangler I picked up 6 months ago. What seal is leaking?
