I never did find the bar out there but I DID find out what happens when you don't hit the station and take on some petrol on the way down to scissors crossing:

tiny terror We can't leave until 2. Mike has a math test he can't miss.

The sight we liked was to the left of the entrance. It's a protected area in a cove of little hills.

turdhurdler ^^^Haha. Wood. Hey, what time is everyone planning on getting to the camp site? I was thinking of hitting the pavement about 11 to noon and arrive about 2. Anyone else going to be there then or will I be the one to pice a site?

Jeff

stevens243 You said wood.

(Thanks Brian).

Easy there big fella! What you "deliver" inside the camper is none of our business!

Unlimited I'll bring some extra wood.... Also, I'm bringing about 20 extra gals of water for whoever needs it.
03-24-2010 09:20 AM
stevens243 Brian, my veggies are in the sauce...just sayin'. If you or anyone wants more/extra...

I won't be bringing quite as much wood as I thought either. I'll bring whatever will fit in the jeep around the coolers, tent etc.

Unlimited Ok, since Larry's got the sauce, veggies, meat, etc covered and Jeff is bringing the pasta and bread, we’ll switch gears and bring salad and Apricot cobbler for dessert.

See ya Friday......

jdhallissey HEY LARRY YES I AM READING THIS. All in great fun, if I had to do that day all over again, I wouldn't change anything at all. It all makes great memories of wheeling and only knowing a guy for basically a day. What this group brings together is something different. I have a mustang and that group is not nearly as close nit as this by any chance.

Cain & Tiny are in, will be bringing Southwestern Eggrolls
Turd & Turdette (sorry, couldn't resist), garlic bread, seasonings, pasta if needed, bacon
Brian & Judy, will bring pasta and sauce and all that other junk he mentioned.
Larry & Debbie, will bring the sauce and firewood. Wooohooo a fire.

Tentative - Ray.
Turdette... I love it!

turdhurdler When I was a little kid, I used to put my spaghetti between two slices of garlic bread and have a spetti sammich. Mmmmm, good times. So with the truck load of sauce, how much garlic bread and pasta should I bring? Last year I had a wee bit too much bread. Oh, and keep the cardiologist on speed dial cause I still plan on bringing the bacon for breakfast. mmmmm bacon...

tiny terror Oh my God, Larry. Okay people, we're all expected to have spaghetti sammiches on the trail.
03-21-2010 10:50 AM
stevens243 Ok gang. Sauce is ready to go. I made WAAAAYYY too much sauce and Deb was laughing at me, but I have plenty to bring. Pics below. I used the vacuum sealer and froze a bunch of bags so I just need to know how many to throw in the cooler.

A costco run later, it's time to peel some garlic. Gotta add some kick for that Ragu and classico sauce!

Hamburger AND sausage will work too. For those of you with a cardiologist on speed dial, yes, I drained grease/fat off.
Attachment 17143

Oops. Not enough room to add the veggies. Well, one more pan will have to come out. The garlic, onions, mushrooms and red/yellow/orange peppers need some room to cook after all.
Attachment 17144

I have enough sauce for like 24-30 people. I guess we'll be eating spaghetti out of the freezer for awhile!
03-20-2010 12:02 PM
stevens243 Concur. I've got the spaghetti sauce. I see we have 8 confirmed and another possible family coming. I'll bring enough for an even dozen.
03-20-2010 11:10 AM
tiny terror I say we still do it. What the heck, we have to eat.
03-20-2010 10:56 AM
stevens243 Is the potluck still on? Or are we gonna cancel it due to the drop of participants?

If we are still gonna do it, I'm good. Just need to know.

stevens243 Yo, we still wanna do spaghetti on Saturday night? Gotta make the sauce if so...
03-18-2010 08:02 PM
turdhurdler Its not the eating I worry about. I heard Flat Brian can really put the beer away. We can only carry so much.

Jeff
03-18-2010 07:27 PM
Flat Brian I'd come if Cain would hurry up and finish the paper Jeep for me to drive.

(I may just tag along anyway, but don't worry, I don't eat much.)

Unlimited I thought you were pokin' the fire with your "Flashlight"......
03-18-2010 11:53 AM
stevens243 I thought the "bar" was a broken axle shaft and that we used it to poke the fire...maybe I'm just confused though...
