New Jeep Owner
Hi everyone. I'm a brand new Jeep owner, and forum member. About 2 months ago I purchased a slightly used, and modified 2dr JK. Nothing flashy. 265/75/16 AT's, an unknown aftermarket steel front bumper, D44 rear axle, soft top, recovery points front and rear, 4.10 gears...all the basics started so I can get straight to the fun stuff I'm loving it so far. It's my only vehicle so I don't wheel it TOO hard. No rocks, just light trails and muddin.
Some things I'm planning on doing are new steelies...prob black. I love the black rim look. Tires of course. Perhaps a 285/75/16 Duratrac. A small lift. I'm thinking a 2.5" coilspring with new shocks. Some driving lights on the bumper, and maybe an all black paint job. These flares are huge...maybe I'll do something with them too. I dont know yet.
Hopefully I can help some ppl out on this forum. I'm a Machinist by trade, but have worked as an airport Mechanic repairing tugs, forklifts, conveyers, etc. I've also built and geared many 2 cycle go-kart engines, and karts in general. My dad and I raced them for years a long time ago.
My uncle has had Jeeps as long as I can remember. 2 YJ's, a Rubicon, and recently a Sahara. My father has also owned an old CJ till he ditched it for a Pontiac 6000. What was he thinking?
Oh well, I'm rambling now. I'll get some pics of my rig up ASAP. It'll probably happen after I get the new wheels and lights on though (that's where I'm picking up after the last owner) but I'll get a pic of my heep before just for comparison's sake. Anyway, I'm happy to be a part of the forum, and hope to have some laughs, look at some awesome Jeeps, and maybe help someone out or get help if needed.
