01 won't start

Hello all,
I have an 01 Wrangler and today I went to start it up and it wouldn't start. It would crank just like it was about to start but it won't ever fire up. The battery was replaced about two months ago but I am not ruling that out. I tried jumping the Jeep with my Subaru with no luck. The gauges seem to be fine even though I'm getting a "check gauges" light. The battery gauge will slowly go up to around halfway while its being jumped and when I try to start it, it will go completely dead. When I was jumping it, it sounded like it was cranking faster than when it wasn't being jumped. Any one have any ideas concerning this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
