check all the rubber connectors going from your evap to your purge, to your intake.
I'm betting it is a rubber fitting. I had the same codes. minor leak and large leak.
I would assume the gas cap usually doesn't go bad.
I got my hoses from the dealer, cost me 40.00 for the set. replaced em, cleared the codes, and never returned. there is a green cap next to the evap on mine and the rubber fittings were cracked in places that weren't obvious until I took the lines off and inspected them.

|kylekae||The savvy skid does have an indentation for the fuel pump. So I think I may go get a smoke test|

My Jeep had a leak around the fuel pump/sending unit gasket on top of the tank. Fixed under warranty, even though it has Kilby tank skid.
If the Savvy skid doesn't have a recess for the reservoir, it could have compromised the gasket. Pretty sure my Kilby did.

|gmiller0737||Best way to diagnose is to follow the Diagnostic "Tree" in the service manual, Followed by a thorough inspection of all hoses & such,A smoke test may be needed as well|

|kylekae||Found mine and it was under the hood exactly as the diagram. It was upright. Also took the gas cap to the emission place and tested the cap. It is GOOD. I hate this gas tank. I have had it replaced twice, dealership paid for it the second time because they screwed up. Then I put a savvy gas tank skid on so I'm not afraid to drop it now. And don't want to pay the dealership 1k again. Should I take it and get a smoke test in the tank. Or take it to the dealership.|

|Greentj05||Actually, if yours is an 06' it should be tucked behind the R/R wheel behind the inner fender. Sometimes an internal fault with some of these parts can throw false "leak" codes too.|

|dcmtex||Check the evap canister under the battery. Mine was ate up. Stop eating the beans and the gassy smell will go away Good luck!|

|kylekae||No hard starting but the garage smells kinda gassy every now and then. But the car only has 50k and I had the tank replaced by the dealer for the same reason last year.|

|ztman||Mine did the same thing, dealer replaced the EVAP solenoid. Smoke test and solenoid was about $300|

The dealership DOES have a smoke generator they can use to find leaky hoses. They charged me $328, mostly labor, to drop the tank and find/replace two leaky rubber hoses. It was over and done in a half day and has not come back in three years.
I was expecting this to be a repair covered by the emissions warranty and it was not. The emissions warranty only covers the converters and other "major components", not including hoses. This repair happened about 2 months after my seven year bumper-to-bumper warranty expired.

|workshop4ever||I had the same problem recently and found that my EVAP solenoid was installed upside down. After you double-check the cap, check every inch of the lines, I would look at the solenoid. It should be labeled "TOP" and obviously....that side should be on top.|

|bigcat||I'd check that moose cap (kidding). Check the evap cannister, and the lines especially...I had a few rot holes in mine that caused the code...Then you can go back to your original cap. I hated the replacement|

If you are 100% positive that it's not the cap (i bet it is) then you have a large evap leak somewhere. Lots of good info on the web, 99% point to a bad cap.
