It's definitely metal. I didn't realize that the valve cover could be either plastic or aluminum on that model, hence my confusion.
Thank you for the advice!

|Pylonpounder||From what I can see, the only difference is if the valve cover on your engine is plastic or if it is aluminum. Open up your hood and tap on it- if it seems plastic get that one, if it seems metal get the one for the aluminum cover.|

Valve Cover Gasket question
Hi. I have the dreaded but expected valve cover leak. I am--how shall I put it--not very mechanically inclined but, with the help of a mechanically inclined friend, I will be attempting to replace the gasket. I have a '93 Wrangler 4cyl/2.5L with the original engine.
My question is: which Fel-Pro gasket should I pick up at the local auto store (they were not very helpful in explaining the difference)?
FEL-PRO Part # VS50421C
OHV engine; w/Aluminum valve cover; Cork
FEL-PRO Part # VS50430C
OHV engine; w/Plastic valve cover; Cork
I tried to figure this out through the magic of Google but both gaskets keep being recommended for my model.
If this is a stupid question, I apologize. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
