Rocky Bar Just moved ours up today. Had 1" spacers holding pan down. Since it has a SYE, and asked the forum, decided to see if it would work without spacers. It's fine, no weird stuff. Got six 2" x 1/2" sae grade 8 bolts at True Value, and changed out. Rig looks better, and has more ground clearance.

Jerry Bransford Probably about 1" shorter than what is in there now or shorter by how much your t-case is dropped now. 1" shorter should be close enough.

jtalar Hahahahaha, I understand that, my current drop kit is longer than 1 inch, and I am going with an SYE so I have to put the skid back to stock, I was just wondering what the precise stock bolt size was, since I chucked mine a year ago.... I am one of those precise kind-0-guys... I will just measure once I pull one out and get a shorter one...thanks for the help anyways

What, you can't remove one of yours to see how long it is? Whatever length it is, buy the new ones that are 1" longer.

jtalar Wait isn't an m12x1.75 the type bolt and thread pitch? How about the length?

AzTJ ^ seeing as stock is 1.75"... add an inch if that's how tall the drop is.

Your 2000 uses SAE bolts as I recall, not metric like newer TJs use, so a Grade 8 would be fine. Grade 8 is just stronger than a Grade 5 like the factory installed.

03 RUBI Our local ACE Hardware sells graded metric bolts. I'm also sure they have a web site.

doclouie I am also looking for those bolts. Jerry picked them up at Ababa Bolt in California, but I have not heard back from them. If you find a place on the internet to purchase them I would be really interested. I am looking at a 1/2" drop.

Jerry Bransford It's an M12x1.75. Make sure what you buy has either a 10.9 or 12.8 hardness, it will say either 10.9 or 12.8 right on the bolt.

Transfer case drop

Anyone know the size of the stock bolts for the transfer case on a 2004 TJ?
