I quit in May after 33 years of pac-a-day smoking, never once trying to stop. Told myself I enjoyed it. HA! Tried an ecig on a Wednesday (15May13), smoked my last nail the following Saturday and never looked back. Rough going for the first 2 months but I am fine now. I still use the ecigs but have decreased my nicotine intake to about 25% of what it used to be.
Good luck to all you "quitters" out there, I'm behind you 100%!!

If every one you light up, you must put out somewhere on your body. I would bet people would quit post haste.
Good luck every one. I heard it is a hard habit to break. My uncle quit like 10 times before he was and my grandma had her second heart attack before she quit.

I did something similar for about 3 months when I switched jobs. I had to stay with the old company for 3 more months but the new one, with a much brighter future, wanted me to start right away. Fortunately, the hours for one job were in the evening and the other job was during the day. I worked both jobs, 8.5 hours each day (including lunch), full time for 3 months. A lot of the weekends were spent resting.

Quit smoking Oct 2 1996 3 packs a day. I could tell you what time of day it was by what pack I was opening. Drove a Tractor Trailer nothing better to do then smoke. Started smoking when i was 16 and smoked til I was 31 regret the day I started. I tried many times to quit, was lucky if I made it 8 hrs before I picked up another one. I just got to the point that I was tired of it determined to never smoke again I did it and haven't looked back. I will tell anyone that asks never give up trying and to think of it that if you don't quit today eventually there will be a day you are smoke free.
Good Luck to all that give up the habit

no i havent and need to but i havent had that problem since that day im attempting to kill 2 birds with one stone on this one as i have learned the state of kansas has a new law in regards to a cdl license ( im still researching this as to what i all need) apparently i have to register and have my current med card on file with registration and redo this online every two years so they know what im driving and who im driving for / not sure i understand it all yet anyway moral of story im going to make sure i have everything i need from the doctor to get clearance for cdl and check me out at same time.

|jherrington||Did you ever go see the doc for the numbness and tingling?|
|11-11-2013 11:09 AM|
ive just about stumbled myself luckily i talked myself out of it hang in there only u can make the decision to start up and or quit ...........
i started this board just to let folks know what i went through and to verify it wasnt just me going through what i was..... i have learned that ciggaretts effect people in many different ways yet there are a lot of simmilarities amongst us in the effects now its more about letting others know there not alone .............its more than hearing one person you know at work blow harding about how they quit and what they went through
i commend anyone that has taken the step to have the mindset to quit and applaud those who attempt

I picked it up briefly in college, then let it go again, then started in on cigars (yay, CIGARS!). I put them down in 2003 just before rotator cuff surgery, and have not had anything since.
And you know, I STILL want a cig! CRAP! Everytime I see someone smoking I want one, but I know if I were to start up now, I may not be able to kick it again, and it would probably be my undoing.
Besides, even though I want one, I don't want Dewey or ME smelling like a butt!

Congrats on 28 days!
Your symptoms sound more like diabetic neuropathy than a withdrawal symptom. You should get checked out.
