McBear Voting results show a pretty balanced group which is pretty cool.

I was born and raised in Harlan Kentucky, lived in Lexington for a bunch of years but also did nearly a decade in New York City and a couple more in Redmond WA.

I THINK that still makes me Southern though with what I picked up in NYC many of my emails tend to sign off with "FnA, Y'all".

That might explain why Kentucky was a Border State.

Hendy Born in NJ, raised as a Yankees fan. Joined the Marines, lived in SC and NC for a few years. Transfered to upstate NY, switched to the Navy, transfered to RI and then VA where we currently live. Will retire in NC eventually, still a huge Yankees fan but prefer the southern lifestyle by far, registered Republican who won't be voting for any incumbents this year. Got a Jeep in the driveway so I am all good!!!

"If your from California your not really anything"...." you said it"

Not that I mean anything by it, just saying california doesn't have a dog in the fight over north and south

IdahoIslander When we left the South, God led us to the only state that has 2 towns named Dixie.
Out here in Idaho, most folks think that the Mississippi is the East-West divide and seem to be unaware that the mason-Dixon line exists.
Western by geography
Southern by birth, conviction, endearment, and the grace of God.

I feel sorry for those poor silly yankees

Mr. Sinister where at in delaware? i don't think i'd offend you when i say delaware sucks.
08-24-2010 08:55 PM
6InARowMakesItGo Arizona doesn't really fit either of these options. i guess technically southern though. i did live in Illinois from 13-19 untill i joined the military. now i live in Delaware where everybody thinks they're in the south but aren't. by the way Illinois is known as a democratic state but thats only because of chicago. the rest of the state is very republican. people from other areas refer to it as the state of chicago.

toshpate I want to do a flag on the tailgate of my cj and call her the rebel renegade. My friends think I am nuts. I think she would sure be purty. And I am a democrat. I know what a kimber 1911 is. Had one for awhile. And yes I would shoot first and ask questions later. And no I did not vote for Obama. I voted republican.
08-24-2010 04:38 PM
Mr. Sinister i like to think i'm just me, regardless of where i live.

Here is a little test that will help you decide.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with
your wife and two small children.

Suddenly, a Terrorist with a huge knife
comes around the corner, locks eyes with you,
screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges at you...

You are carrying a
Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.
What do you do?

THINK CAREFULLY AND
THEN SCROLL DOWN:

Democrat's Answer:

* Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!
* What is a Kimber 1911 cal. 45 ACP?
* Does the man look poor or oppressed?
* Is he really a terrorist? Am I guilty of profiling?
* Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
* Could we run away?
* What does my wife think?
* What about the kids?
* Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out
of his hand?
* What does the law say about this situation?
* Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
* Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message
does this send to society and to my children?
* Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
* Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to
wound me?
* If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away
while he was stabbing me?
* Should I call 9-1-1?
* Why is this street so deserted?
* We need to raise taxes, have paint & weed day.
* Can we make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage
such behavior.
* I need to debate this with some friends for a few days and try to
come to a consensus.
* This is all so confusing!

I moved to eastern NC from NY as a kid, took me sooo many years to warm up to the BBQ here; it really is delicious!
