Has anyone successfully installed a relay and had the hyper-flash problem resolved?
I've just installed LED taillight drop in bulbs on the Wrangler JK. They're supposed to be CANbus compliant by having heat sinks built in but not sure where the error in voltage is within the parking lights/ turn signals.

My theories : A. replace the front 2 signal/marker lights w LEDs (Cbus style,) making all pklights on the system LED and with properly installed resistors. Potentially regulating and flattening out the varying voltage between the harness?
Or, theory B., add an in line resistor to the taillights and further reduce the current in the parking light harness? I'm so close to figuring this out but stuck and I don't want a hyper-flashing signals...
I can deal with it bc they're so much brighter and sharper looking when switching intensities.

If you need the light, and I fully understand the need, I'd mount an auxiliary light like a Rigid Dually in back.

Cut Splice -
Cut, splice (BS) - for the prices they command $$$, at a minimun they should be plug-n-play. There must be a reason they want the owner to do the modification/addition rather selling a complete ready-to-use tail light.

|Perdel||Bought the 3157 LED Bulbs. Fit great but make turn signals hyper flash. Remedy would be to change turn signal relay. No part available. It seem 2011 - 2012 JK have a combined turn signal switch and relay assembly not upgradeable to LED. Can anyone confirm that this is true about combined switch.|

Hey guys, Sorry to bring up the past but allow me to throw this idea out to yall old timers. What if... you wired your LED's in to your stock light housing and left the factory bulb in the housing as well?
Could it not allow one to have the "bright pretty look" of LED's yet not have to worry about the quick flashing, resistors and legality?
Just an idea and I appreciate the feedback

|JKashat||I've had the Pilot LED Taillights since early last year, with no problems. I love them. The only thing I noticed is that when I remote start the Jeep the passenger side flickers before the lights actually blink and on occasion the (same) passenger side light will flicker when the tailgate is slammed. I think they look OEM but so much more modern and upscale. I wouln't trade them in for anything, unless they made them tinted. I know I can use Night Shades (or similar) but not interested in that. I wish Pilot also made LED turn signal and side markers in Amber color.|

|zaitcev||The cue if LED lights have a chance to work is if the maker includes a replacement electronic blink relay. Normal relay uses heating of a bimetalic strip to create the blink, and thus it's sensitive to the load. No relay included, no deal.|

|Peloquin||i just went back to the store, traded them for 2 new bulbs (OEM) and said to hell with it. after reading around the forums with the issues people are having, decided I don't need any more things to fix or keep up with. and hell no to lambo doors, lol. although, i do need to replace me keyhole on the door. it's super hard to turn, especially when it's cold out.|

|Peloquin||i've been looking into these, as i'm tired of the near misses everyday on the freeway. my commute in the morning is in the dark. figured my 1990 lights were just out of date for todays world, and i was driving around invisible to average drivers on the road. bought the street glow replacement bulbs for my factory housings. the tail light setting is only slightly brighter than the stock one, and the brake setting is actually slightly dimmer. at 30 bucks for 2 bulbs, they are going back to napa.|

I still think a capacitor would be safer. Don't ask me which one; it's been 20 years since I had a bench set up to do this crap. And the company that I work with sold it's semiconductor side 10 years ago so I don't have any engineers to pester for help.
