wat3rdog We have discovered from the last few trips that a bulletproof vest is almost required. We were exiting up the wash and there were idiots shooting into the wash as we had to honk our way out. They were set up at the second sand area on the ridge past the airdown sand dunes. I think next time we will take the ridge back out from the rock garden. We did discover a quicker route to Snoopy.
I can't go this weekend but probably the following weekend. You're welcome to join.

quarkdude Could it be - The Puerco isn't under the radar as bad now? I haven't even got a chance to go to Snoopy rock yet - but I am ready

abqjeep totally understand that. Plan to keep some trash bags with me. Least I can do.
01-24-2014 08:48 PM
wat3rdog The owners are just tired of the idiots that want to trash everything.
01-24-2014 07:48 PM
NM_JK From what I understand there hasn't been anyone out there handing out fliers or stopping anyone for several weeks. I dropped in at the end of northern last weekend but came out at southern around 3pm. There were a lot of people out there on the dune and no one was stopping them...

callbob Airplanes, helo's and limited ingress and egress. That means in and out.
Bottom line....... you are trespassing. Only thing "wild" about the old west is Jt. And he doesnt want to go back to prison. This aint Nashville son.

j3ph3ry_j33p So, myself having been bred&spread in the S.E. Unites States ( between Nashville and Atlanta) I have always envied my fellow Jeepers that live out in the S.W. where the air is dryer and the sun a little brighter and the awesomeness that is the desert is accessible. With that being said & after reading this thread , I am left wondering how on earth it would be enforceable if you were to wheel your tiny little ( relative, guys, relative to the question; i know yours aren't "tiny" Jeeps. I mean in comparison to the size area we are talking about ) Jeeps thru the area I see between where your map is set with a star and the immediate 2.5-3.0 miles to it's West. I se there is a native American reservation at round 3.0-3.5 miles due West but between that and the star is about 2.5 miles of varying terrain - some, mind you, with what appear to be crevasses and cliffs or dunes - suitable for a quick hide. I just never understood how you cant romp off into any point of the desert that one wishes. Now, I know territory is a guarded and big deal; all Americans carry heat; this is still the wild, wild west! I dont invade turf or break laws but I cant imagine how many police or sherrif deputies it'd take to try and prevent an off road Jeep from accessing that area unless it was fenced off. What are the charges if you are? " Oh, your Honor; he was off-roading in a proposed development in the middle of the freaking desert." " Lock him up!"
lol.
Make meth? ok- go to jail. Just wheelin a Jeep around a big old empty spot of mother earth and not doing so in the middle of where children play? go ahead.
Am i wrong about this? That is an AWFUL big area we are talking about.
