TXST8tj mine using conduit clamps. best thing about conduit clamps is they attach to the roll bar and the jack mounts to the clamp. that way, when you use the jack, the mount stays in place on the roll bar.








and using those clamps allows you to keep the base attached to the jack. the top clamp piece is the only thing you have to take off and store somewhere (glovebox), but you don't need that to actually use the jack.

I use a cable lock to attach the top end around the roll bar for security.

ct-tj Ive got a 48 under the hood, on the rad-supports. Secure and clean, it fits real nice and looks clean.

chasm I used the chain link fence tensioners that MoabMan recommended on my YJ. They cost $4.90 for a pair including the additional stainless steel bolts, washers, nuts and wingnuts. They were installed in a few minutes right over the roll bar padding without damaging it. I installed mine horizontally across the back above my tool box. The Hi-Lift extreme fit perfectly and is out of the weather.

A cable and pad lock will help deter theft.

This was the cheapest mod I have ever made, and it is real practical!

Triple88a Can't you put it under the rear seats so it sticks in the trunky a bit? One side of it goes under the seats and the other one goes in the trunk. Perhaps diagonal might fit if it doesnt fit straight.
I dont have a high lift so i dont know exactly how long it is but from the picture it looks like it may work.

If it doesnt work under the seat i would put it in the top corner of the bars right where it curves so its not in the way of anything and out of sight where it can be seen and perhaps planned to be stolen.

Did you cut the rollbar padding for the muffler clamps? It seems like the conduit clamps would work better over pads, and muffler clamps better with no padding.

hardy1531 Instead of conduit clamps use muffler clamps. You can get them at most auto parts houses. easier to install. I have had both and like the muffler clamps better. just my .02

Unlimited They look something like this:

They come in different sizes and you usually find them in the fencing section. I have one on each side of my roll cage just above the seat belt mounts. I used carage bolts, large washers, and wing nuts to secure the Hi-lift to the clamps.

What is a conduit clamp? Do you have a picture of how your jack is mounted?

erickpl Used conduit clamps and have it mounted directly behind the rear seat (when it's in) to the rollbars. When the seat is in, it is just at the top of the seat. With the tonneau cover on, it sits just above it. With the top on, you don't even see it there - inside or out.

1BLKJP I can't remember the name of it, but there is a company that makes a bracket where you can mount your hi-lift to the hood.

Personally I just keep mine down behind the front seats.

Hi-Lift Mounting Location

Howdy,

Trying to find a suitable location to mount a Hi-Lift. I have a stock rear bumper so nothing fancy there. Thinking about mounting the bar to the roll bars behind the soundbar, with the mechanisim removed and in the storage box. However, open for other ideas.

It does not have to be "easy access", but bolted to the inside of the frame rails is not an option either. If you have an idea or suggestion, I'd like to hear it.
