I.M.O.: If there is ANY way you can do it yourself, you should. I installed mine myself and it was one of the easiest things that i've ever done.

Here's a couple write-ups:

I printed out this one when I did mine:

http://4x4xplor.com/aussielocker.html

And this page shows good ideas on how to get the "carrier" out:

http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/d30seals/seal-1.htm
(this method worked for me: http://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/d30seals/seal-5.jpg )

You should really consider using the money to buy a vise($30 at HF) and a couple of other tools(if you don't have already) that you would need to do this yourself instead of paying the shop to do it for you.

Todd Morton I purchased them from offroadlockers.com 250 each. Aussie distributers.

Unfortunately all the people I called referenced me to these guys. within a 50 miles.

All I have heard is great from people on the aussie lockers. Just was concerned that this guy knew something I did not.

Scout, I think your right. Thanks guys.....setting my mind at ease..........

lost I would have another place install them if I was you.

just wondering, how much do they want to charge you?

Scout Watch the "f" word.

Did you buy the lockers from them? If not then do they sell lockers? I'm just thinking if you didn't buy them from them they may be mad about that and they're just trying to make your life difficult.

Aussie Lockers To Be Installed

No I cant install em myself. I am just not set up for any vehicle maint. at my 1 bedroom apartment.

So I took it to the only Service shop in the east bay that would work on it. (FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SPECIALTIES)(CONCORD, CA) I walk in the door and the first thing the guy says is that they will break. "its your money , I'll install em, but they will break".

Now I am worried I made a mistake. After all the researching these, I thought I was OK. But the way this guy was talking its like I will get down the road a mile and will be f-----.

Now its a 01 TJ with a 2.5 liter. Not exactly alot of torque. But hey figured I would make up for that with some decent traction.

Any comments.....I'll take em!!! Just venting, the guy pissed me off.
