dalearyous great thread! just clicked through every page. i may have a question or two about your CB install (will PM if necessary) ... yours is basically what i am looking to do. all i have is the teraflex tailgate mount and a 2' firestik and cable. still deciding on the rest while my winch and sPOD show up.

Argent Hehe - yeah, like I said one would have probably been enough but since I was up in there wiring things in - I figured I might as well wire them both in!

Argent Hey guess what!

I went out to on a Fall color tour with a couple clubs yesterday

There were 49 Jeeps there from the Michigan and Indiana chapters of Wicked Jeeps and the Michiana Jeep Club. It was a self guided 60 mile-ish tour on regular and seasonal roads.

we were handed maps in case we got lost

some places it was a bit tight

other places - not so much!

But I did get her dirty!

and after 12 hours away from home - I tucked her in the garage for the night

The next morning - we headed off to the car wash!

Before -

After - $12 later!

I love my Jeep - and my Jeep club!

Have you done the tweeter mod yet? I'm looking to purchase the capacitors and wanted to make sure I order the right ones.

Also, I assume the head unit doesn't matter when critiquing the sound. I have a 730N for reference.

I have the premium and I'm looking for some easy & low budget upgrades without adding an amp or re-wiring anything. I did the poly fill in the sound bar and sub enclosure and it's slightly better but I'm definitely interested in swapping out the speakers if it makes a noticeable improvement. I think the premium system is pretty good but I was hoping for better.

Thanks again for all the info and good luck with the light mod!

EDIT: I think I might have already figured out that you have the premium system since you have the sub. I think the standard system doesn't have the sub.

tweeter mod (~$5 and some time with a soldering iron), Infinity 6032si ($55/pair - some do just the soundbar some do both) and the Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 ($60-80 depending on where you buy and how fast you want it) plus some Metra OE wire harness adapters to make everything plug n play.
Yeah, I swapped out all the OEM speakers, so I'm good there. I was just a cheap bastard and didn't order the Alpine, so I have no stock sub to replace/tap. So it's going to require LOTS of wiring, changing out the head unit and finding places to hide an amp and a sub. I don't want a huge box in the back like Mike has. I buy too many groceries! LOL

StarBrite That's sweet! I wish I could figure out what I want to do with my sound system. It's finally decent top off weather for more than 3 hours, and my tunes are SORELY lacking at 70MPH. The Polks are an awesome upgrade over stock, just without anything driving it, it's still pretty quiet on the highway, topless.
10-16-2014 07:29 AM
Argent Well not the light mod yet (I did receive those the other day - just need to figure out where and how to mount them now) but I did upgrade the stock subwoofer thanks to RubiconSS the guys over in this thread

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f274/su...nt-921921.html

old vs new sub

test fitting

its a Pioneer TS-SW2002D2 and with the Metra wire harness adapters its directly plug n play without cutting any wires. It fits in the stock opening and all the holes line up with the stock grille as well - so it still looks factory. My initial response is that it is a cleaner bass with a greater range (certainly not the BOOM BOOM BOOM a pair of amp'd 12" would give you) but a noticeable difference - especially with the tweeter mod from Pressurized....I already upgraded the other speakers to the Kickers (before I knew better) and may consider swapping those next for the Infinity 6032si which seems to be the best upgrades.

Argent I'm trying to find a way to get light in the 'trunk' area because damn its dark back there....picked up a pair of 6" new style COB LEDs that I think might be overkill because they are sold as DRL's - but we'll see....maybe they'll work so well I'll use them to replace the underseat lighting I currently am running!

They look like this

should be here next week sometime...

Just paint it all blue, then go back an repaint the letters like Star did on hers. That will easier than trying to tape off the factory JEEP.
