As for the Cummins swap...
It'd add a TON of front end weight, so you'd need to do a LOT of suspension and a bit of frame work to work it not dump the front end. Next up, a custom wiring harness. Then, custom motor mounts, exhaust, bellhousing adapter, and probably a few other things. That all alone will EASILY eclipse the PITA factor of a relatively drop-in Hemi kit that is pretty all-inclusive and idiot proof, and has great support and lots of people who have done it.
When I was up at Rock Krawler the other day, I heard there's a company very close to offering an LS-swap kit- stay tuned Mark W.

physicly i think it can be done but if your not a mechanic with the capabilities to fabricate your own motor mounts, drive shaft and any other pieces you will need then i think the cost of installing a diesel is going to be more then buying the hemi kit. a diesel is going to need alot of other things that the hemi kit would not need. but to your question, could it be done? of course it can! but can you do it or can you afford to pay to have it done? thats the real question here.
i have put engines in cars that just shouldnt be there. like installing a 350 into a mazda rx7 or putting a 305 into a honda crx. took alot of time making everything fit and fabricating parts to make them fit properly. but in the end they ran awesome.

JK engine swap
I was wondering if anyone had experience with engine swaps in JK's?
I have an 08, manual.
Ive been tossing around the idea of either a diesel, or a Hemi. But after lots of research, the Hemi's have gone up in price considerably, plus a 5k kit you need, so thats out of the question.
Anyone think a 4BT turbo diesel cummings would work? I am looking for a bit more get up and go, and some more MPG.
