Bulletproof This reminds me of what my buddy did with his stock 2003 silverado vortec 5.3L, one time after a night of muddin while headed to the CAR WASH! he decided to hit one more hole but like a dumbass he hit the hole full of water too fast, sucked in a bunch of water locked up his engine and threw a rod through his block..had to buy a whole new engine

GroceryGrabber Dude, that's a funny story I've done my fair share a dumb sh*t in my Jeep, but I wouldn't hit a hole like that going fast lol!

You guys got some nice rigs that's a sweet XJ too.

Damage to that truck I think will buff out. I wouldn't sweat it

jdhallissey Geoff I agree with you for the most part. Take that truck and play in the dunes COOL take it back into the ROCK QUARRY your liable to total vehicles. Like this truck, once we got it out I opened the doors and watched the mud poor out. They did a bunch of damage to the truck. Clay inside on the leather seats, probably over 1000 dollars worth of damage.
03-16-2010 10:13 AM
Geoff@Bestop I don't want to support silly kids driving an Avalanche, BUT: they did this in a place designed for it, they damaged no property other than their own, they learned a lesson (or at least had the opportunity to), and they have a story to tell.

And most importantly, while this was dangerous to the vehicle, it was safe for the people.

Compare it to the dumb people who do this sort of thing alone, on high Colorado trails. Or compare it the people who turn private property into mud holes.

I don't want to make it sound like these kids were smart, but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen.

Plus, pulling some of the plastic crap of an Avalanche can only make it look better.

jdhallissey Hey chris I am going to do my best to make it out and wheel with you on the day trip.
03-16-2010 08:12 AM
InfernoGirl Glad you all were able to help them out! Looks like you had a fun day.... Daddy is surely going to be ticked off with his son
03-16-2010 07:33 AM
snwchris That's frickin funny... sorry but it is.
I've seen a few people there like that at the Badlands, especially the people in the H3's. I've pulled a few of them out that thought they could follow... LOL. I have an H3 I can go anywhere since it's a hummer.... hmm not really... it's a hummer body on a chevy chassis... LOL

AzTJ Just a couple if you don't mind.
03-16-2010 01:23 AM
jdhallissey yes there are Would you like them? He flipped it too earlier that day. I have wheeled with him I think a total of 4 times and every time he has flipped it
03-16-2010 01:16 AM
AzTJ That's too funny. I know I've done my share of stupid sh!at, but I always knew the limits of the vehicle was I driving.

Nice pics! any more of the buggy?
03-16-2010 01:13 AM
jdhallissey ohh the kids standing in the first pic belonged in that truck.

Umm truck got stuck (owner very stupid)

Well owner is a understatement. It was daddies truck (chevy avalanche) fully loaded nav screen that flipped out- alpine leather everything- dvd screens in the headrests.

So these boys were out in a STOCK truck in the rock quarry figuring well I dunno what they were figuring. The found the deepest or second deepest mud hole in the midwest. I have full buggy's not make it thru this hole with 42's on. So on with the story- the 6 kids in this truck get a running start. They said they were right around 40-45 mph when they hit the hole.

Needless to say they BURIED the truck in a clay water mix that breaks stuff when you get stuck. So in the end took 2 jeeps (me- locked 5.13's 33's on rubi 44's-- a locked 30/44 on 35's then the big boy had to help- YJ buggy on 40's altas 10.34:1) using it ALL! Finally got the truck out. Here are the pics.

Then the Damage came--

Then the mud hole

So to end this- If you wheel the badlands and go into the quarry. DO NOT GO INTO THAT MUD HOLE
