the right seat config?

Hey everyone,
I have been away for a long time. I rebuilt my transmission over the winter and my 74 cj5 runs like a dream! I drive it every chance I get, when I'm not working.I have two questions....#1: When I got her nothing was fastened in the interior. The seats just don't look right. The drivers side seat looks good....and it's up high enough to see fairly well over the hood, but the passenger seat is not quite right. Should it be fastened on a bar like the drivers side or does it sit on a platform? It's about four inches too low. I just wanted it to be somewhat close to the drivers side.
#2 the drivers side headlight is dim...what would cause this.....bad headlight?
I'm sure someone can answer my questions here.....
I'll post new pics soon....rain tomorrow ...MUD!!!
