2000 tj

Don't mean to hijack the thread but am trying to add cruise myself. Jeepareus.com has got it...1999-2000 Jeep Wrangler Cruise control kit Speed Kit 1999 2000 6 or 4cyl but $500 is a little steep and I'm not terribly concerned if it's O.E. which this seems to be and is the reason for the high price. Can anyone make a recc for an aftermarket cruise control kit for 2000 TJ automatic 6L? TIA!

stu132u I found a servo (
2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ Cruise Speed Control Servo

and was wondering what else (besides the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel) do I need? Thanks! Stuart stu132u@aol.com

bcbaker4399 My Auto Detailer installed the factory cruise control, and it works very nicely. The Jeep Dealer refunded my purchase of the kit, so, it worked out well.

Not intended for regular use...just for those times on long trips where I need to give my foot a break for a few minutes on a fairly flat stretch of open road. Sure beats having nothing...but eventually I do intend to shell out the dough on TRUE (safe and proper...) cruise control.

terrible2 ? people usually use it for driving on the highways, as for off roading, hand throttles are supposed to be useful so that people dont rev up accidentally.

Neil F. Just a note, some jeeps are prewired and makes installation a lot easier (and fewer parts a necessary. I think there are fewer parts to buy. I believe jeepsareus has the info about the parts that are not needed.). I know there are posts here or other forums. If you are prewired, there is a connector by the brake booster.

Kilroy I installed a factory kit on my '06. It took me about two hours. You will need to open up some connectors and insert wires/pins. Just be careful and DO NOT force any connectors. After you open the connector to insetr the pin, there is still a keeper in place that must be remoed to install the pin. And be sure to carefully re wrap the cables where you opened the connectors.

Boulder City Boulders just ordered the mopar kit from jeeppartsmall.com part # 82209481AB = $192.70 plus shipping, and is supposed to include EVERYTHING. get the factory kit, not aftermarket. you'll be glad you did. easy to follow instructions also, or have your local mechanic install it for you

03 RUBI Cruise control is great for long hiway drives. Could you use that $200+ for something your Jeep needs more. Armor, tires etc?

Zeep I ordered/installed the kit from Jeepsareus. Every thing you'll need is there. Just pull the trigger and be done with it, no regrets!!!

2006 TJ - I want to add cruise control

I recently purchased an 06 TJ - and it does not have cruise control. To add this, I have found the Mopar factory kit at
Jeeps Are Us: JEEP WRANGLER CRUISE CONTROL <br> FActory Original OEM 1998 to 2010 / Speed Kit

And the steering wheel kit switches at

Jeeps Are Us: Cruise control switches/RESUME ACCEL, ON/OFF

My Jeep Dealer referred my to a detailing place called Ameristar, and they want to use a Rostra 2501223, with a stalk on the steering column.

Anyone have experience with this, and a recommendation?

Thanks.

Brian
