Odhinn No worries about that on this end. They never did catch the Zodiac.

tiny terror Bad moods and strange are a bad mix... tend to make for Son of Sam or Zodiac. We don't need another Bundy.
02-27-2007 10:38 AM
Odhinn That's possible. I have always been a bit strange, at least when I'm in a good mood.

tiny terror Maybe they saw the egg.

just sayin'

Odhinn My brothers told me, When they were talking to me, that if I got my wisdom teeth out I would be as dumb as a brick. But they also had me believing, when I was about 5 or 6, that I was hatched from an alien egg.

MouthfulOfGrass Why are they called "Wisdom" teeth ? Does anyone know a story ?

If you have to have them removed, do you lose wisdom ? OR, were you not deserving in the first place ?

So it looks like you'll have a 75% chance of keeping your lower jaw. One in four ain't bad!

Good luck!

kg4kpg Both of my top ones grow into the sinus cavity. Never coming out and I never have any pain. Besides, with them gone, it would be gross every time I sneez. :barf: We need more smileys to choose from!
02-24-2007 08:12 AM
FuzzyDolly I had 3 of mine taken out at once. No major problems, just the normal amount of pain. It wasn't so much the pain, as you can feel the yanking. Anway, the 4th will never come out. It's actually grown UP into my nasal cavity, and if they pull it, I'll have a hole between my nose and my mouth. They say it would major surgery to fix the problem. I've opted to just live with the pain everyday.

Odhinn I had all of mine taken out at once. Went through surgery where they had to have the gums pealed back and the teeth roots and jaw bone cut. I was completely under and don't even remember the trip home from the dentist.(good drugs) The bad part of mine was I had to work the next day in 100 degree heat and was not able to take my pain meds.

Doc gave me instructions on what I could eat so I got very sick of potted meat, Vienna sausages, and soup after about a week but I never got a dry socket following his instructions.

trulefty I had 2 at a time done. Had no problems either time and ate what I wanted that afternoon (Dr didn't know). Pain wasn't that bad either. Deadning shots were the worst part.....

lost Thanks for the advice about food, theres a hot wing special tomorrow at this place down here that i was planning on catching. i guess i'll nix that plan tho
02-23-2007 07:48 PM
activelydying you'll get some nice pain meds to take home.
02-23-2007 07:41 PM
amy Had all 4 of mine done at once. Just numbed my mouth. The pop of my teeth breaking, so they could get them out, was kinda fun.

Don't eat things like hot frenchfries or rice until the holes are all healed over. Getting hot(or really cold) food stuck in the holes before you're healed, really hurts.

Wet sockets

tiny terror If you aren't being put under, then you're ok. They would have you go to the hospital early in the morning for blood work ups before that, so you'd know. I was under for a couple of hours and ended up leaving the hospital still groggy because I was "combative and unruly".
02-23-2007 07:17 PM
04moneypit Don't worry, I had all four of mine pulled, two in one sitting, two in another. The only horror story I have is that I had sore gums, and two of mine were impacted, and they broke one trying to get it out. Dry sockets are when the blood clot comes out of the hole where your tooth used to be, if you follow the dentists directions, you'll probably be okay, just make sure you stock up on milk, bananas, and peanut butter and bread. Soft foods are your friend.
