We got a little snow, so the wife and I had to go cruise and see what the ponds looked like. Turned out to be a great little drive.

I made a template by tracing the light and cutting out the square. Then I marked it on the RIGHT side first because you don't have room for margin like the left. If you went to the left side first and went too high, the right would be screwed up because of the spare tire hinge brackets being in the way.
Then I carefully measured its exact location and then went to left side and repeated. I used a dremel to cut the square out. I also sanded down the edges of the square and sprayed primer on it to prevent rust. Then I wired it up, and tapped holes with a drill and screwed them in with metal screws. Keep in mind you will lose not only reverse lights but also the lic plate bracket and that lite too. You will have to buy a new relocation bracket for the spare and it needs a light or you'll get pulled over. I got pulled for it the next day but they let me go when I told them I was waiting for my bracket and light. I used Rok Lites for reverse lights in the plate because the ones on my bumper were getting old and rusting. Too easy. I also used wire disconnects in case I needed to use my spare.

Did some updates to my jeep so i thought i'd take some pics at my small local wheeling spot. Installed the poison spyder defender xc fenders and BFH II rear bumper. Im going to order the rear corners after new years and then save for some axles.

The 8.8 is stronger than the D44, by under 15% which is a good margin.

Here is my 97'
Plan on doing a d44 or 8.8 swap very soon. Leaning towards the 8.8 since a d44 is so hard to find in the area.
