Ok, so I started getting a rattle yesterday. Checked the latch, tight. Checked the lugnuts, tight. Scratched noggin, itched. Said, F-it! I'll figure it out this weekend." Went to put my Bruins cover on the spare and the whole thing shook. Opened the swing, my problem was the extension bolts. There are 4 bolts that go to the sliding rail where the lug mounts are. Mine were free spinning and it let the whole spare rattle. Was only noticeable when pushing on one area of the tire. So, anyone with a rattle may want to check these bolts. Also, it would suck for your spare to take out the cars behind you on the road. Hope this helps eliminate the prob for some of you.

On a side note I'm looking at the warn zeon 10-s winch. Anyone running this on their bumper that can post pics.... Thanks.

Ryan do y'all cary Warn. Any deals for Black Friday?
Double check that it's not from the D-rings. If it turns out to be the latch you can pad the surface that the tire carrier rests against with some adhesive foam. I've hear that that will help with any noise. Let me know if you have other questions!

We don't currently carry Warn.

That combo looks great on your rig! Do you have pics of the winch in action?

SonicBoom Just FYI, if you also have a front bumper there is a rattle from the D rings on bumps which is normal. Make sure it's the latch and not the D ring.

Hardermods I dont have a rattle but recently saw they changed the rear latch design, wonder if that could affect anything.

I'm sorry you're getting a rattle! I've read that some customers used adhesive foam tape on the latch catch to eliminate any noise that may occur. Although most of our customers don't have an issue with noise. Shoot me a PM if you'd like me to look into getting your rattle taken care of further.

I have had mine on for a couple weeks. The roads here suck. It's like I'm constantly driving off road. Haven't heard a peep from the back yet. Carrying a 33" Mickey Thompson.

Tom95YJ Most of the aftermarket bumpers are not tow rated. Cause it is expensive as hell to get tow rated then liability ect .....

I had a custom built swing out tire carrier on my 95 It was 3"x5" 1/4" tube with a 1/4" 2" receiver through welded and the bumper bolted to the cross member with 8 grade 8 bolts and had frame tie ins also. I towed with it several times

Reed,
You see where your stock bumper bracket is sandwiched between your hitch bracket and cross bar? That's exactly where the Barricade bumper's bracket goes. You just pull the aft bolt out, may have to loosen the forward bold a bit, slip the new bumper bracket in, and voilą! However, I'm not sure the bottom of the bumper will clear your hitch bar (the center extension where you attach the adaptor). You could always order, mock up, then cut or file whatever gets in the way. Again, I'll take those pics you asked for soon as I get home.

Rock Kicker Hey all, I know this is off topic, but Beastmaster entered me into the Veterans Day contest. If you don't mind, toss me a vote. If you scroll through the thread, I think on page 4, you will see a pic of me in my Drill Sgt. days. The pic was taken in 2001. I served from 96-09. Thanks.

The link above takes you to the weird version of the thread and my pic doesn't show. If you go to the actual thread it does. This is the pic I posted.

Especially since this hardware is constantly exposed to the elements. But I kept wondering if I had gotten the wrong hardware. Basic mechanics 101, bolts should have no less than 2 threads exposed passed the nut exit. These were all barely touching the nylon locker. I had already expected this and planned on having to get grade 8 anyways.
