InfernoGirl Even cooler visionjinx, thanks! Let me know, you aren't that far from me, and the drive to Cinci is pretty nice from here... We can probably cruise over and pick it up.

VisionJinx i will let you know this weekend when i get my other stuff (my original deal fell through but i have a good back up working now buddy at work has 2 10'' kickers for sale) the speaker in the console box is a 6.5 pyle deep bass handles 250 or 350 watts (cant remember) i would take $75.00 for all if i get the new stuff and it sounds good hooked up. i dont want crazy bass just something to make all the speakers sound good (jeeps suck at not having any bass)

InfernoGirl Cool, how much would you want for it? What speaker is in it?

Submit a request at if you haven't yet... might link him to the pic in that thread linked to here if he's unsure of what you're talking about.

I'd be afraid it would rattle and/or sound like crap...the enclosure should really be sized appropriately for the speaker otherwise it won't perform like it should. Not to mention I think the factory design uses a sealed enclosure (I could be wrong...never had mine apart) whereas by putting the sub right inside the console, it'd be more of a ported enclosure. ...I've never really dealt with ported enclosures, but iirc if the port isn't sized properly, you will be less than pleased with the end product.

For getting a stock enclosure...possibly try When I needed something he got back with me in under 24 hours.

You could also post in the wanted section...someone who upgraded to a larger setup may be willing to part with their old factory stuff.

InfernoGirl Well, that's kind of what I thought. I was hoping someone who had a factory sub would maybe post a pic of theirs, or enlighten me further however they could.

InfernoGirl I'd really like something that fits in the console, like the factory sub. My kids will gripe even more if their butts are thumpin'.....

3025826 How did you get a box to fit under the rear seat? Could you post some pics I was also hoping to get subs in my jeep

aenima540 So for my sub i just installed I got the Boss Audio BASS1200, had it in two days, it sounds great! You're having it installed by a professional or someone so my installation process isn't a big deal but it didn't take too long and wasn't very hard, It hits pretty good and fits right under my rear seat, here's a link to the one i got Boss BASS1200 10-Inch Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer with Remote Subwoofer Level Control: Automotive you'll also need the 8 gauge wiring kit that it says down below total came to 176 and it's well worth it

InfernoGirl Thanks Sentenced, I definitely need an amp, now I gotta find a sub enclosure... Any ideas?
03-23-2010 09:06 PM
s3nt3nc3d Yeah, I believe there's an enclosure that houses the sub that goes inside the console. Not sure where the amp is located...but you may need one of those too.

Subwoofer enclosure needed in console?

I have the console with the grille for a sub, but due to bad info being given to the PO, the sub was never installed. I am considering upgrading my audio somewhat, and was told that I need an enclosure for a sub to put it in the console. Is that accurate? I just have a cavern inside the console now.... I will be having stuff installed, since audio work isn't my specialty. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
