Abomination93 well i had a similar issue with 5th gear...it ended up being a busted bearing retaining clip, was the front cluster gear bearing. i eventually lost 5th gear all together. but thats my exp with the ax-15, ill know a bit more once i get working again and can rebuild my spare ax-15

Garyk Could be the shifter is out of adjustment. If you have to hold it in reverse it may be hitting the floorpan.
I had broken motor mounts and the engine moved back about 1 inch or better. I could see where the shifter was hitting the floorpan.

Shifting Issues

Hey guys-

I have a 89 Wrangler with an AX-15 5 speed and I am experiencing some shifting issues:

1) I have to hold it in Reverse

2) Once in a while grinds a little if I quick shift

I am going to replace ALL fluids this weekend.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mike
