thanks y'all. feeling a little better now, although still licking the wounds a bit LOL. i'd rather be out wheeling then slaving for the man anyway, and while my job here doesnt pay chit, at least i get plenty of time off. i coulda used the extra 20 grand a year tho, no doubt about that.
especially since........hell has frozen over and im getting married in june

My current job was the same way. I told my boss on the fourth interview that I feel like I am on the "Apprentice"... with a 16 week job interview. I had testing here, I had to go to a shrink for testing, had drug testing, had lunch with upper management. All I do is make lighters. The shrink thing was pretty cool though, I found out I have a 126 IQ. All these years I thought I was dumber than a box of rocks.
Keep looking, there is always another job out there. You never know, you may find something out there that is just perfect for you. Try not to be narrow minded, just because the job is not in your field doesn't mean you won't enjoy it. The bottom line is...you need to make money.

|amy||I'm sorry the job didn't work out but it's great about the jamboree in llano. Something better, job wise, will come your way. Best of luck.|

So sorry to hear that...
But I would have been even sadder; if you had missed 60% the Llano Trip!
I almost went to work for DC once... I flew to Detriot 3X for three diff. intervies in 10 days.
After 30 days of not picking a canidate I took my hat out of the ring and went back to selling Jeeps!
Things like that have a way of working out for the best

|whitebuffalo||i know what you mean man. i was just telling the Mrs. i'm not even sure i wanna be in this GD field anymore. unfortuneatly, i dont really know what i wanna do......besides hit the lotto|

|binaryking||That's what I always hated about the computer field. 3 different interviews, a test or two, at the end you have so much time invested, and then most of the time they didn't even bother to let you know if you didn't get the job. Makes a guy wanna burn a mofo to the ground. Sorry you didn't get it, but that just means you are available for when that REALLY sweet offer comes up, and it will man. I am living proof. I used to work in IT, and now I sell JEEPS!!!|

good news...but mostly bad news
well....i applied for a job here locally. its like it was written for me. it was manager of a technical thing of which i have 7 years good experience. i have some managerial experiece, but more at supervisory role than department head but i have an MBA in management. i had 3 interviews including one that was a presentation. it was down to me and one other guy.
they took the other guy.
the good news.....if i had gotten the job, i coulda only gone to one day of the jamboree in llano
