|USMC Wrangler||I know this is an older thread, but I pick up my Rubi take-off rails tomorrow. I already picked up the hardware in the sizes indicated by the OP in stainless. Thanks for the info!|

For those wanting to know the specific hardware... sizes you need, see my post in this thread. Want to know what wrench sizes you need see the other post by FXnut.

you're both right
what bill post are the actual bolt specs. the 10 and 13mm numbers are the bolt head size. the 8mm bolts need a 13mm socket andthe 6mm nuts use a 10mm wrench to tighten.

I purchased the hardware in the sizes as mentioned in my first post. My Son was over with his '14 JK Sport, so I checked/test fit to see if the bolts were the correct size. YES, yes they were. Perfect fit in regard to all the hardware I mentioned and purchased.
Tomorrow I will be spraying the rubi rails with Rust-oleum Bedliner Truck Bedliner Coating.
The coating matches the ACE sliders. Will do the install of the newly coated rubi rails on Friday.

If my undercoating is dry enough tomorrow I will check it out and report back.

I have a 2dr and you have a 4 door so that is why your setup has the extra studs and the additional 2 larger bolts. NOT SURE why I was told the sizes that I posted and you are saying otherwise... hmmmmmmm Anyway, after the install I will come back here with exact info and not I think's... 8-)

Hmmm.. I just installed my trimmed Rubi rails today, and there were 6 larger bolts, I believe 13mm that attach the rail to the tub bottom, and then there were I think 6 studs on each side attached to the rail that go through the small hole in the pinch seam at the bottom. Those studs appear to have thread locked on them which could have been from the Nylock nuts, and use a 10mm (I think) nut to hold them on tight.
I'm also sure the sizes were 13mm and 10mm.. I'd crawl under and double check for you again but I just had it undercoated about 20 mins ago, sorry

Ok.... after speaking via telephone with 4 different part's guys this morning, I finally spoke with one older parts guy that was nice enough to drop what he was doing and take the time to investigate and report to me the exact bolt / nut sizes, etc.. He just happened to have a 4 dr. set of rubi rails with hardware that were just pulled off of a '14 JK. 8-)
Anyway, for the 2012 and newer JK's you need the following hardware when you install either OEM rubi rock rails of OEM side steps:
1) 8mm 1.25 pitch 30mm length Grade 9 hardened hex head bolts
(you need 4 of these for the 2dr) Also need washers/lock washers
2) 6mm x 1.0 pitch Nylock nuts
(you need 8 of these for the 2dr.) Also need washers
Note: With 2012 and newer JK's you do not use "U-nuts". They are not required.
Also, 30mm length as mentioned above is just a little less then 1.25 inches in length.

Rubicon Rock rail hardware question
I need to find out what hardware I need to install a set of 2 dr. rubi rails on a 2014 JK. The 2012-2014 JK's have existing holes on the frame with threads that you place the bolt in (no u clips needed with 2012-2014) ..
Also, each 2dr rubi rail has 4 threaded studs that I will need to use nylock
nuts and washers on, do you know what size nylock nut?
Your info will keep me from having to run in and out of the hardware place. 8-)
Thanks in advance for your input on this!
