|redneckwelder||The jk has tighter than normal door seals to keep out water when fording water. It's not cab air pressure but the tight seals. Allowing more venting helps.|

Even with my top off, the doors are tight to close.
Its a combination of two things.
A light weight Door and Seals the prevent water intrusion.
Most cars have heavier doors and are not too concerned with sealing to allow for 30" of water fording.

|WaltA||Wranglers aren't air tight. It is really a matter of having a way to very quickly vent out excess air pressure while closing the doors, right at the door that's closing. That's why one of the better ways is to lower the window on that door a bit, and then raise it back up once the door is fully closed.|

|jkjeeper06||There is a vent in the tailgate. It's behind the spare tire. It's probably a 4"x4" vent under the tire mount. That let's some air escape. Not quite as vented as the earlier TJ hard tops tho with vents at the rear of the top|

|kik||I know BMW's/ Mini Coopers do it. Most likely not enough of a demand and an increased expense to do it with JK's. And, probably not practical since the full doors have full frames. The doors are made for a tight fit. Even though the vent in the rear gate releases pressure the doors are tight unless a window is actually open. I don't see it as a problem. Keep slamming it won't break. The more they're used it takes a little less effort to close.|

The cars that do what the OP is describing are only vehicles with half-doors. For example; the mustang does this. It allows the window to seat itself into the roof tightly after the door is closed.
Outside of the mustang, usually only euro vehicles do this.
This is completely useless on a wrangler which has a full door frame so the window is always tightly closed, regardless of if the door is opened.

I have never heard of any car that automatically lowered the window when you open the door..
The Jeeps already have a cab vent in the rear tailgate behind the spare tire carrier.
With my Jeep it is actually the Hardtop door seals that make it harder to shut then with the softtop..

Door Pressure issue
Not sure if anyone else has asked this .. but on most cars when the door is open the window will roll down a bit and when it shuts the window will shut. this will allow the door to close with out slamming it as it lets the air pressure out.
has anyone figured a way of doing this in the jeeps .. cause it would save a lot of slamming doors.
