Mike001 I've read bad things about those rancho adjustables with them breaking and stuff like that.

Just repeating what I was told. This was in '05. From what I remember, they were supposedly rusting on the shafts causing the seals to leak or something like that.

DocG2828 I know the Ranchos are a bit pricey, but 4 for the price of 3 makes them pretty reasonable at about 50 bucks a pop....and that's for adjustable.

Can't imagine the ride on the softest setting would be that harsh would it?

Rawkon warrenty issues?? ive never heard of any before. ive ran 4 set of there shocks on different vehicles. and they ride great on and off road

Tdad I'm running 32x11.50 MT's with a 2" spacer lift and a 1" body lift.
When I was looking for shocks, friends told me to stay away from the Ranchos because they were stiff/harsh. I was going to get DT's but the shop I was going to buy from stopped selling them because they were having too many warranty issues.
I ended up getting Skyjacker Nitros for about $30 each. They have held up well for almost 2 years. Can't beat them for the price, IMO.

Rawkon go doetsch tec if you want to save money. ranchos arnt cheap.

DocG2828 I may have decided on a cheap puck kit with Rancho adjustables. Lots of places have them buy 3 get 1 free.....so for 270 I can get 4 adjustable Rancho's. Then one day buy the in-cab controls since I do a variety of types of driving.

Mike001 Bilsteins are real nice on mustangs and a real good shock for Jeeps to.

ChilliRed Just want to give a 2x on the OME shocks. You still feel everything, jus less... much better than the superlifts that i replaced

DocG2828 Maybe I'll look into getting a cheap spacer set and then some nicer shocks....in the Mustang world, bilsteins were the way to go....sounds like they're pretty nice on Jeeps too. Guess I'll have to go back to doing some more research.

Mike001 I got a buddy with cheap shocks and it rides rougher than a wagon. It sucks bad spend a little extra mone for a good set you won't regret it. Mine is softer than stock with the shocks I have. And the handling is great. Besides less stuff will rattle loose with a good shock. I have launched my Jeep about 7 feet off the ground and I didn't hardly feel the landing at all.

I was exaggerating a little bit...but seriously I'm not worried about a really soft ride. I've never used any of the aftermarket shocks on a Jeep so I don't know how soft of a ride you can actually get in this thing, but I'd prefer a tough long lasting shock to a softer one.

is it a tom woods drive shaft? and is it the u-joints that are breaking? I had this issue and it ended up that the needle bearings in the caps just disentigrated on me every time I'd drive it. I talked to tom woods and told them about my issue, and also told them that it was nearly impossible to put a new cap in the ear on the drive shaft. They took the driveshaft back and sent me a new one and as it turned out, the ears were to small and it was compressing the cap to the point that the bearings were just falling apart.

DocG2828 I'm planning on running 32x11.5's on a 2" lift. I'm sure I'll upgrade to a bigger/better lift later....but it'll be years down the road so I don't think I'm really wasting the money now.

I've heard lots of good things about OME, but I'm not really wanting to spend the money on that right now. I'm thinking maybe 50 bucks a shock if I don't buy a kit. I think 33 might rub a little with only a 2" lift ....from what everyone told me when I was getting new suspension 2" will fit 32 inch and 3" lift will fit 33's the best advice I got was to save up some money longer and but a complete lift...but if your not wheeling then I guess you can go for a cheaper lift

Mike001 I don't know but pucks are pucks You can get two inch pucks from Rusty's for $100 last time I checked. Then add a nice set of shocks. I would check Discount Tire for a tire and wheel deal cause you might be able to get a good deal there to. I would do a lot fo research and chenckin other web sites before you make a final decision I did that instead of rushing it and got a sweet deal. You otta check 4x4groupbuy.com

Rubicon Express Lifts

I've been looking at piecing together a package at 4wd.com. I've been leaning towards the Skyjacker 2" lift with the spacers and shocks, but 4wd.com doesn't carry the package, only the spacer lift package w/out shocks.

They have a Rubicon Express 2" lift with shocks and spacers. Anyone know anything about this lift? Is it any good?

Or would I be better off getting the spacer lift and buying the shocks separately?

Anyone ever do the packages at 4wd.com? Seems like a pretty good deal and easy enough if they mount/balance all wheels and tires.....would make a DIY install pretty easy with the only thing needed being an alignment.
