JIMBOX Thanx Kevin, you wouldn't believe his sense of humor and He used to make what he called (Silver Dollar Pancakes) for breakfast, sometimes and they were unique

Kevin Saw the movie and read about his passing. We live in Stockton which is about 30 minutes from Elk Grove.) He was a very unique individual and we could certainly use more like him.

Sad Passing

We lost one of the greatest educators , we've ever had

Most of you younguns won't remember him, but some of you older guys/gals, just might

On March 30, Jaime Escalante, died in Reno (hospital) of cancer/pneumonia, I had visited him on my last trip to Nevada (mid March)

He had come from Bolivia, where one of his homes is and was being treated by a (questionable) method for the Bladder cancer

The movie "Stand and Deliver" was based on his remarkable teaching at Garfield Highschool in LA. and Edward J. Almos played him, while Lou Diamond Philips, was one of the "Students"

They weren't at the Viewing in Elk Grove this morning, but will be at the funeral next saturday (4-17-10), at the collisiem in LA, Ca

If you want to see The "Terminater"(Arnold),Edward,Lou,Michael Jordan and some other actors, go to the funeral, but parking is going to be tough

He has a home in Roseville also, I've seen both and they are spectacular

Say a prayer if you would, his math knowledge and teaching techniques are very rare and will be missed

He and Edward were at UC davis for a lecture and he met my daughter, in her last year there, later that evening, he told me that if she wasn't gonna be a model, she would be something BIG, other than a housewife, I wish she could be here for the funeral, but nope
