DakotaBuck Don't even get me started on those damn birds! Luckily, I made it out on Nauset once before it closed. I almost think a $300 sticker to Duxbury is worth it, because at least I could use it. Maybe next year.

Race point still has a lot of beach open at the moment. But its too far from Boston for day trips.

pasteris71 It has sucked at the beach do far! We have a summer home in North Truro and they are closing the beaches due to the stupid birds again. Before you buy a permit make sure to ask about the birds and how many beaches will be closed. They have been selling passes without telling people.

I like to resurrect this thread every spring

Hi Everyone - I know the weather in Boston sucks today, but the beach weather will be here before we know it.

Who's getting beach permits this year and how much did you pay. Post a link to the website, let's try to get a list going.

I'm going with Nauset Beach again this year for $180.

info is here:
Town of Orleans - ORV ( Off Road Vehicles)

Video is here:
Town of Orleans - 2012 ORV Video

See you on the beach - don't forget to wave!

redrock Sorry folks, Dakotabuck posted a link to Dennis beaches...I was wrong about Crow's Pasture it's 100 for residents and 200 for nonresidents. I've gone out before but I never knew it was a permit for use.

redrock Yeah the outer beach north and south on the Cape is great. You need to get the permit @ Nauset beach now but until May you go to the police department in Orleans for it. There is also Crow's Pasture in Dennis on the bayside that's free. It's off 6A about a mile out of Brewster.

Trails are only for residents of Sandy Neck (special permit). Speed limit is 15 mph and you are required to stay on the front beach trail. Only time you venture off is to park or turn around.

Just purchased my 2nd. Jeep last week.About 20 yrs. after my first. It's a 2006 with all kinds of mods done.26k on the clock,so the typical undercarriage rusting hasn't gotten out of control. It's going to get 3 coats of SEMS self-etching primer. Going to spray even in frame holes. Then a SEMS epoxy top coat.2-3 coats with rinsing after each beach visit, should keep the corrosion critters under control.
GO BRUINS!! ONE MORE WIN!!

200 still isn't bad for access to the entire state. (granted there shorelines not too big)

DakotaBuck 6/3/11 Nauset Beach is closed* due to piping plover nests near the entrance. *residents on Orleans still have access to the north end of the beach.

6/3/11 Sandy Neck is open for 1.6 miles.

6/3/11 Race Point Beach still has open sections and Coast Guard Beach is now open for night fishing.

There are several off road beaches on Martha's vineyard; however, it will cost you atleast $150 to get you Jeep there on the Ferry. After that i think the beach stickers are fairly reasonable.
Already got the ferry pass. That week is going to be nuts because of the holiday.
I'll try and find the info on what beaches allow it.

My GF's parents have a house in plymouth so hopefully the'll be able to get me a pass... when the beach opens.

Haven't been to Chapin or Sandy Neck.

Here is the real issue - Last year Nauset was closed to all vehicles for all of June and July! The Piping Plovers are federally protected and once their eggs hatch, they have to close the beach until the chicks can fly. Race Point will partially close, I think Duxbury stays open all year - not sure about the others.

Send me a PM if you want to check out Nauset some time, before you drop $180.

SHOCKING! $275 must be on the on-line price???
nope , i was there n person,, i left. no beach is worth that kind of money.
