Tiburon no you can hook up the converter at any time. I'd put it behind the radio and tap into the front speakers for signal as a sub hitting the bass note may push on the rear speaker and cause a feedback loop.

One more question

Ok thanks for the link. And also will using a line out converter effect my speaker setup right now? I have the dash speakers a soundbar and tweeters. And would the quality of the sub still be decent? Sorry for all the questions I don't know that much about car audio and wiring.

Tiburon no your stock radio does not have a 'pre-out' to hook up an amp. you can replace the radio or you can go out and pick up a line out converterScosche LOC80 2-channel line output converter at just wire it in for a signal and run RCAs to the amp and poof.

Factory cassette radio with subwoofer

Hey everyone. I was wondering if the factory am/fm/cassette radio in my 98 tj has a sub-out or if you can hook up a sub and amp with this radio I looked around the forum and the net and I couldn't find anything. Thanks.
